piano tuning
 + -1 moreWe've had George tune and/or service the piano twice so far, and have been pleased with the results. Our piano is old (built 1919) and has some history to it, with various fixes and substitute parts along the way. George took it in stride. He helped smooth out the action after we first purchased the piano, and also raised the pitch some. He figured out where a buzz was coming from -- crack in the soundboard -- and glued it for us. His extensive knowledge of pianos and prompt and professional service mean we will hire him again.
Description of Work: George tuned and serviced our (circa 1919) upright piano.

piano tuning
 + -1 moreThe tuning required two hours. George warned me that I may need to retune in 6 months because it appeared the piano was never tuned. George arrived 5 minutes early and did a fantastic job. I was extremely impressed with George's service and professionalism and am recommending him to all of my friends with pianos. I feel very lucky to have found George.
Description of Work: George tuned my Otto Grau player piano which we both guessed had never been tuned. He spent about two hours, and I got a history of the Grau company, how pianos are constructed, etc. Before he began, he cautioned my that tuning may not be successful, that strings which are corroded may break, and so on. It because obvious at the end of the visit that George loves restoring old pianos.

 + -1 moreIt was pleasant and professional. We have a very good console piano that after 49 years can still be brought back in tune. He's very good. Keep up the good work.
Description of Work: Brought piano back to true pitch and gave me more info on my piano and other services he supplies (rebuilding, etc). He did an excellent job of tuning.
