CAUTION!!! DO NOT LET THESE GUYS NEAR YOUR HOUSE!! READ REVIEWS CAREFULLY!! G&R could stand for Gouge & Ripoff! I received a $1132 bill for Garbage Disposal Replacement on site for 20 minutes!! And don't be fooled by claims of many years in business and many customers. They may treat some customers decently and cowardly hide behind them as they gouge others. THEY ARE REAL CON MEN Please feel free to contact me for any verification desired.
Response from G & R Plumbing Inc
"Thank you for your business and thank you for giving us the opportunity to earn your business. We've been in business for over 38 years and most of our customers leave satisfied and happy with the work that we completed work for them. A large portion of our client base have been using us for years. We are a flat rate priced company, meaning there is no hourly rate charge. Our prices reflect current industry trends for work that needs to be completed for each job. Please review your invoice. You were given the best discount we could provide (we assumed you were either over 65, a repeat client, or also a military veteran). You were charged the same fair price that we charge all our clientele for this type of work. No further discount is warranted because that would be unfair to the rest of our clients that paid the same price you have. I’m sorry you weren’t completely satisfied with our services. Again, thank you for your business and have a great day!"

I requested a service call during the week and a call was returned that week. We made an appointment for two days later. The G&R Plumbing owner came to my house with his assistant on time and in the time frame that I requested. They TV'd the sewer line and found that it was in "bad" condition and suggested that they water jet the line. In order to TV the line they had to break the sewer cap, since it was the original, and then replace it. They did this with no issues. They will be back this month the flush out the sewer. I felt that they did a very professional job, they gave me a copy of the TV'd sewer line and reviewed the footage with me. I was pleased with their professionalism, their timely response and repair to my issues. I will have them back to flush the sewer and hire them again as need be.

He broke my water line (no apology) while replacing my neighbors, so I had no time to get an estimate from someone else. (He refused to leave the holes open for another plumber to take a look.) He demanded that we pay $2,800 plus tax and he was done in less than an hour. The broken pipe was not capped when broken so we had mud in our toilet tank for a week. He left a mess in our neighbors yard and did not level out the gravel in our driveway. In short, he was difficult, demanding, rude, and overpriced. To add insult to injury, he charges more if you use a credit card.

Randy was very responsive after my first call, checked the next day to see if we still needed the work done. Gave us a price for copper less than our other quotes for poly. And to boot, was able to do the work within a couple of days. On July 4 weekend. The others were estimating over a week (without water)! I would definitely recommend him or use for other plumbing work.

We used G&R Plumbing.  I think they were dishonest.  They did some things that weren't really necessary and didn't give us an estimate of the extra work they were going to do.  They were going to dig down to it and from it and go under a sidewalk but what they ended up doing was quite a bit more digging.  They added about $3000 to the bill that we didn't know about.  They left it and packed the dirt down.  Now we have a big trench that they piled the dirt back in it.  All this for a little pipe.

Randy is great - straight forward and informative, professional and prompt. Our septic pump was not coming on and we had a horrible smell coming from the septic tanks. They were out the next day and addressed all the issues we were having. He contacted the correct people to make sure the work was done to the satisfaction of the village and I'm confident he took care of everything. Price seemed fair for the amount of work we needed done.

I was taken to the cleaners. I was charged $98.50 just for him to look at the heating elemetns and tighten a few lose screwsI was charged $165 to replace the main shut off valve, even though the part itself is only $50.00. I was charged $110.11 to have him replace the water line on the hot side on top of the hot water heater even though this is about a

I didn't have to dig up my front lawn to get the work done. They put some heavy-duty chemicals down the drain or in the tree roots to kill the tree roots so that they would not invade the tiles. I just liked the fact that they would not badmouth. They were professional. They were clean and tidy. They were on time. They were polite and asked me that they were going to take some more time doing the job and if I could handle them, still being in the house. I have been using his services since the first time and would continue to use them in the future.

Run as fast as you can from this company. G&R was called to fix a washer connection and for a leaking toilet. They charged my wife over $250 to "reset" the leaking toilet. It started leaking again within hours. They said their work was guaranteed for 30 days. It was more like 30 seconds. When my wife called them about the toilet still leaking from the tank, the owner said we probably broke it by "sitting back on it too hard." The funny thing is we hadn't even used it since they left. So, the owner grudgingly agreed to come back and he claimed they fixed the leak. He said that if it started leaking again, then we would need a new toilet. Surprise. It started leaking again within hours. We called out a different plumber who pointed out G&R had used a wax seal that was barely hanging on, when instead, it needed a specific part designed for that type toilet. The plumber went to a plumbing supply store, picked up the part, put it in and the leak stopped. Amazing. When we complained to the BBB, he responded that he didn't put the right part in the tank because he didn't have it on his truck. Well, whoopdedoo, neither did the second plumber, but he managed to secure it and bring it to our house in an hour. I later found out the Cincinnati BBB website showed the company had 13 BBB complaints in the past 36 months (as of July 13, 2008).

Would not use this contractor again. Price was high, tried to go for highest money possible, did not want to try a "simple" fix first. Pricing was higher UNLESS I would have accepted the warranty.

SINCE OUR EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COMPANY, WE HAVE TRIED TO REACH A FAIR SETTLEMENT. I HAVE FILED A BBB REPORT. IT IS VERY OBVIOUS THAT THIS COMPANY REALLY DOESN'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS OR THEIR OWN REPUTATION. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND G & R PLUMBING TO ANYONE.

They were very responsive and professional at first. However, once the water line was replaced, there was not enough pressure to run our outdoor sprinkler system. They insisted they had never experienced anything like this. After asking several times for an appt, they showed up 2 hours late. We had done our own research & told them the problem was either the PRV or main shut off. The manager then PUT HIS EAR TO THE PRV and concluded that it was absolutely broken and was causing the problem. He replaced it, only to find it did not help the problem. Only then was the main shutoff opened - & gravel came pouring out. They clogged the main shut off with gravel during installation, but still made us pay $160 for replacing the PRV for no reason. They insisted it was a combination of both that caused the problem, because they've ''seen it before''! They did give me a break on the price of the PRV, but it was replaced only because they were CERTAIN that was causing the problem.

When I phoned, they said the service call would be 69.50, but didn't explain that didn't include any other labor time. For not supplying any parts, I thought they charged a lot to clean some dirt and re-light the pilot.

WE WERE IN A BIND HAVING BEEN WITHOUT WATER FOR 3 DAYS, WHEN RANDY PARTIN SHOWED UP, AND GAVE US AN ESTIMATE OF $2300. WE THOUGHT THE PRICE WAS HIGH GIVEN THAT OTHERS IN THE AREA WERE CHARGING $1200 TO $1500 FOR THE JOB, BUT LIKE I SAID WE WERE IN A BIND. THE WORK WAS DONE WITHIN 2 HOURS, BUT BECAUSE THEY TORE THE YARD UP IN A POOR MANNER ALL OF THE PEA GRAVEL WAS DISLOCATED. NEVER PROPERLY REPLACED IN THE GROUND. THIS RESULTED IN A STRANGE VIBRATING NOISE IN THE PIPES WHEN FLUSHING THE TOILETS, OR IF ANY WATER IS RUSHING THROUGH THE PIPES LIKE THE WASHING MACHINE. THEY REPLACED THE WATER REGULATOR AFTER I COMPLAINED TO THE COUNTY (SOMETHING THE COUNTY TOLD ME IS A STANDARD PART OF THE REPLACEMENT JOB), AND THEN INSTALLED IT UPSIDE DOWN. THEY WERE RUDE, AND AT TIMES TRIED TO BE THREATENING. I REPORTED THEM TO THE BBB, AND UNFORTUNATELY ALL THE BBB CAN DO IS GIVE THEM AN UNRESOLVED REPORT. THEY ARE TERRIBLE AND SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR ANY PLUMBING PURPOSE!
