"We are obviously very disappointed that any customer would give us straight "F"s in all categories. Please allow us a professional rebuttal. SUMMARY: Our customer brought in a system that was dying. We diagnosed it, provided the parts, installed the operating system, updates and other auxiliary software. He received the Angie’s List Discount. Total cost to the customer was $125.50 for labor, $62.00 for parts, and $12.26 in tax. Customer has a fully functional PC again. DETAILS: 1.) Member indicated that he brought us "a computer which the hard drive crashed and they destroyed it." The simple fact is that the hard drive was dying. Yes, it did finally die while here. We did not destroy it. This is exactly like a heart attack patient. The person is quickly deteriorating, and the medics and doctors do everything they can to save the patient, but sometimes the situation is too far gone and the patient dies. The Doctors didn't kill the patient. In the same manner, we did not destroy this hard drive. 2.) Member stated that Fuller Computer Solutions "provided with disc for Operating System were packed copies, so I was wondering if I should return the disc over to Microsoft and they would be out of business" Here are the facts: Since the original hard drive died, we sold Member a new hard drive. An empty hard drive does him no good, it needs an operating system. Members PC had the original license sticker with the Certificate of Authenticity for Windows XP Media Center Edition, so we knew that he had purchased a valid Microsoft License for that Product. However, he did not have his original disc for that product. At this point in time, Windows XP had been out of production for 58 months (since January, 2007). Our company always gives the original media for the Operating System to our customers, so we did not have the CD for this product at our shop. As a Microsoft Partner, we were able to download a copy of XP Media Center, put it on a CD and install it for the customer. We apparently downloaded the Partner version, not the consumer version; so after a period of time, the operating system was not operating fully. Once he brought that to our attention, we located the correct version of this old software for him, and re-installed everything. Of course, we re-installed this at no charge, with our apologies for the inconvenience. We explained what happened with the install of the operating system, but somehow Member got the idea in his head that we were pirating software. One of the features that differentiates Fuller Computer Solutions from the Big-Box stores and the mail-order places is that we do not leave our customers hanging. Typically the larger companies would replace the hard drive, and it is up to the consumer to re-install the operating system (OS). If a customer fails to make a backup copy of the OS, and/or loses their disk, the larger stores do nothing to help out, and use this misfortune as a method to simply sell more stuff. Our approach was to help out Member by taking the time to find and download a piece of software which has been out of the marketplace for 58 months! We admit that this task took us two tries, however the end result was a successful repair, at minimum cost. We hardly believe that we deserve straight “F”s in a review for that. "Sorry to hear that you are not satisfied. Upon seeing your report, I once again checked our records under your name. We show that between June, 2004 & September, 2007 we had three invoices in your name. The only product we sold you was one 1-year license for AVG. All other charges were for service only. Certainly, it makes sense that we cannot replace a piece of hardware under warranty if we did not sell it. Possibly this sale was in another name, or we made some other accounting error? We would have gladly provided service if you had presented us a receipt. Again, very sorry about your dissatisfaction. Sincerely, Tom Waltner President"
