She took 4 + hours (two hours x 2 people) to clean my house and charged $160. She said on the first day that they would get faster as they got to know my home. I believed that to mean it would not be $160 every week. As time went on, she and her partner were down to less than 90 minutes (or less than three hours divided by two people), but still charging the same money. The cleaning was not as thorough, and she kept insisting she should clean my kitchen, which I do myself. One day she did it on her own as I was working (I am a writer), and she scraped up my stainless steel professional stove by using some type of metal scraper on it to remove baked on stains. The way to remove those is to place a hot towel over them for a few minutes. The one she wanted to remove was stubborn, so she took a blade to it and scratched up my stove. She argues with you over things, and when I had a conversation with her about the money, she was very unprofessional and stated that was the cost of the “job” for five rooms, with two tubs that never require cleaning as they are not used. I have a walk-in shower and live alone. The coup de gras was she must hve been upset over the check I wrote to her for $120, which is $40/hour per person (more than she deserved), and she scheduled April 22 with me. She did not show up on that date, and she did not call. She thought she was worth $55/hour...total rip off. Additionally, the last time she cleaned for me, she was on a personal call for about 15 minutes - while she cleaned, and I had to show her mold that she missed in the shower, that mold had been missed the last three times she cleaned. I wanted to see how long it would be before she noticed it. The cleaning experience was not horrible, but just make sure you make it clear how much you are willing to pay on day one.
