Eclipse Dog Training

Wonderful Experience.  I was learned so much about my dog during the training.  I was taught how dogs communicate with other animals and more importantly, how he communicates with me.  I now understand, through my dogs actions, how he feels about certain situations, people, places and things which allows me to take action to help reduce his stress.  I also learned why my dog reacted the way he did to these things and how best to observe and look for signs of emotions.  In the end, I now have a better understanding of my best buddy and a deeper relationship as a result.  My training experience gave me a great foundation of knowledge and tools which allow me to continually improve my dog's life,  so he can live a better, happier and stress free life!

Mary was very good with both our dogs. The dogs seemed to have learned better behavior after the four sessions. Mary was punctual, knowledgeable and very good with the dogs.

Mary is an excellent instructor. She taught some basic training and obedience methods and then taught more training particular to our wants and needs. She did not rush or gloss over any issues. She normally stayed over time at no additional charge. Our puppy soon relished her visits. We would recommend Mary to anyone in need of dog training. Her fee was substantially less than another trainer we considered.

I only wish we had known about her when we had our the old dog, who had predatory/aggression problems and bit.  I really believe we could have saved him, and will regret that we didn't for the rest of my life.  This will never be a problem with our new puppy.

Excellent job

I am so grateful to have found Mary and to have learned so much from her; she has made us better dog parents and has really helped our pup grow up into a very well-behaved boy!  We got our dog when he was 2 months old and after a few weeks I felt overwhelmed and didn't know how to deal with him or where to turn with my frustration and lack of knowledge about training.  Thankfully we found Mary and I immediately felt calmer just by speaking with her for the first time over the phone.  Our puppy had very early fear-aggression behaviors, resource guarding and hyperactivity since we got him at 2 months old.  She came to our house and we could not believe how quickly he responded to her. Mary has always been exceptionally patient with us, alleviating my anxieties and giving us hope that our dog could and would get better. 
We had actually tried working with a couple of trainers before working with Mary, but none of them really understood how to work with our dog or could get him to respond and teach us practical, useful, positive methods for Simba's behaviors.  He is a much happier and well-behaved boy who has become part of our family.  
Mary is thoroughly educated in dog behavior and training for so many common household problems and also works with some more concerning behaviors like Simba had exhibited from an early age.  She always spent extra time with us and readily answers questions by phone or email.  She is a truly exceptional person, a dog-lover at heart and I would recommend her without reservation.  I really don't know what would have happened with our dog because I was so frustrated with him and other trainers before we found her.

Mary Tewes came to my home, and worked iwth my dog for 2 hours. I liked her because she was very knowledgeable. I especially wanted someone who used positive reinforcement, and she did. She fed my dog treats. My dog responded well. I was able to use some of the hints she gave me. The only thing that bothered me was that she tended to sit in the chair, and do all of the talking and training. I would prefer a trainer that was more actively involved in the training.

I LOVE MARY. I HAVE A DOG THAT IS FEARFUL, AND CAN BE AGGRESSIVE WITH PEOPLE. SHE WON HIM OVER IN NO TIME. SHE HELPED ME WITH HIM, IN HER CLASS, AND BY THE END HE WOULD PLAY WITH THE OTHER DOGS, AND LET THEIR PEOPLE PET HIM. I WAS AMAZED. I HAVE HAD MY DOG TO PURDUE UNIVERSITY ANIMAL BEHAVIOR CLINIC FOR FURTHER TRAINING, AND I CAN TELL YOU THAT SHE TRAINS THE WAY THEY ARE TEACHING THEIR FUTURE ANIMAL BEHAVIORISTS TO TRAIN. SHE IS SO KNOWLEDGEABLE AND SO PATIENT. SHE WILL COME TO YOUR HOME TO SEE IF SHE CAN GET A FEEL FOR WHAT IS HAPPENING IN YOUR SITUATION. I LOVE MY DOG, AND WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR HIM. SHE HAS HELPED ME MAKE HIM A BETTER DOG. CAN'T SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT HER.
