He came in with a contract, (this was my first time as I am a new homeowner). He said he wanted to do an hourly rate, of $1500 all together. I asked him to keep me posted, because all I could afford was $800. So I asked him to just do the shower. I woke up one morning, and I was already up to $600, and he hadn't even put but 7 slats of tile on. I asked how much more time he was going to need, and he said 5 or 6 or maybe more hours, and I still needed to put the toilet and vanity in. This was going way over my budget. After he left I contacted a few other contracters and they said I had made a bad decision. I called him and asked for detailed information for his hours worked, he falsified the hours he was in my house, at one time he was actually in Home Depot. When I asked others how long it should've taken, they said only about 5 hours, and he was already clocked for 12 hours and had an assistant. He left a piece of drywall hanging by my table, did not clean up after himself at all.
Description of Work: He was going to tile my shower, put the permabase down and also change shower head out as well. I put $350 down and he put $148 on products.

We had a contract clearly stating the work to be done with provisions much more than perma base and tile with change out of shower valve not head. B.) This was not her first time as the contract states she had another contractor start this project and I have done work for her before. C.) There was no mention of only having $800 to finish the project, and we fave her constant communication of the status and cost daily and more. Please review the contract.
