CITY WIDE READY MIX

I ordered 19.5 yards of concrete for a small foundation. (2-3 trucks). The forms were set, the inspection was passed, perfect sunny day. We’re set to pour at 2:00. The concrete pump truck shows up, is set up, and ready to pump by 1:30. At 1:35 I call citywide to tell them they can come early if they want too. The guy says: “i’m Sorry buddy, we’re out of powder, I can’t get to you today, I can do it Monday” I’ve been in construction for 30 years, I’ve NEVER heard of a concrete company running out of concrete. I tried to call several other companies-but it was Friday afternoon- no one could do it because they were all busy, or the available drivers had been sent home for the day. At this point I have no choice but to send everyone home, but none of this is “free”, nor is my job done. Pump truck show up fee $300, 6 guys sitting around waiting $240, concrete vibrator rental $35, form oil has to be resprayed $75. These are real costs ($650) that I had to pay because of citywide Readymix. Also, the only reason I found out we were not getting concrete was because I called them, they didn’t call me. If they had called me - even just an hour before I found out - I likely would have been able to get concrete from someone else. I called citywide and spoke to the manager. He said “Oh, I’m sorry we just had a “lightning strike” of events and well there’s nothing I’m willing to do”. (ZERO willingness to compensate me with my losses-because of their screw up ). Nothing but “sorry about your luck” - but I’m still out $650 because of their incompetence. Taking them to court, will never use them again, would recommend NO ONE ELSE EVER USE THEM!

CITY WIDE READY MIX WAS GREAT. THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME AND WERE READY TO GO. WE HAD SEVERAL QUESTIONS AND THEY WERE ABLE TO HELP US OUT. THE MAN WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL.
