I looked at the 4.5 rating and thought good to go! Bad mistake and reviews show a trend of not communicating to customers / failure to complete on or near the timeframe discussed. I should have read the reviews. However, the one week to fix the car that turned into three weeks was the best part of my experience at CTS. The paying upfront $2.3K is first red flag I overlooked…they have your money so what’s the hurry to complete. Or did they request my money upfront because they damage my driver side door and passenger side quarter panel. This is when the real run around began. Went to pick-up car after three weeks…no voice or warranty (printer not working), will email (never received). I had the service person come look at the damage to my car…Josh will call you. No phone call, so I called Josh and was told “I am sure if someone did it here, they would’ve told me”. However, we (CTS) have 18 cameras, get me a chance to review the footage. A couple days go by, no call. So, I called and explained to Josh that all you need to do is review the footage the day it arrived (my wife took a picture of the car on the tow truck – no damage at that time). Great idea. Of course, the day my car was dropped off the footage was gone / deleted but we will do you right…I am sure it’s not our fault but will replace the door / fix the damage…can you drop the car off for us to get an estimate from a body shop. I dropped the car off the next day and notice it wasn’t running correctly and told Josh about it (thought it was not shifting gears correctly). I was told it was ball bearing and they would fix it for free ($700) due to damage if we wanted them to do it. I kindly reject the offer, just fix the damage to my car please. Call after call about estimate (waiting on body shop excuse) and me offering to drop it off at the body shop for repair. I did find out from Josh that the body shop never looked at the car when I dropped it off (they were too busy) …thanks for wasting my time again. Finally, after three more weeks of dealing with CTS (six weeks total). Rick the owner offers $300 and stated they will NOT fix the damage. Up to this point, I had been understanding / nice about getting strung long & buying into their lies. I had enough and said, “three weeks of dealing with this “F word BS” and lies that you were going to fix the damage to my car”. Of course, Rick was offended of such language and hung up on me. I immediately drove to the shop and talked with Josh …demanded my invoice and warranty info which I was promised three weeks ago when I picked up my car. 18 cameras – I asked to look at footage and course nothing came from that request. I spent 23 years in the military…traveling all over the country and by far my first/worst experience in the dealing with any automotive repair company. The integrity, accountability and unprofessional behavior of CTS is rated ZERO. My recommendation: Take your car somewhere else!! If CTS is your only option - DO NOT pay upfront, trust nothing they tell you and good luck!!

I wanted to give them a higher rating but after taking back my vehicle because the transmission is acting up again, I can't. First visit resulted in them keeping my car for two weeks and I had to keep calling for updates as they wouldn't call me back. I opted for a rebuild rather than a used or new transmission. Big mistake because now that the car is doing exactly the same thing (bucking when trying to go into overdrive) they say its not the transmission, it needs a tune up. Now mind you, the bucking ONLY occurs when the torque converter is trying to lock up. Never any other time. So between the poor service on the first visit and not wanting to stand behind their work, I can't and won't recommend them. I have another vehicle that needs clutch work and they won't get that business. Go some where else, I am.

Could not have been better. The entire shop was very professional, communication was great, and the work was completed on time. I will be back for all of my transmission work.

They sent a tow truck to come and pick up the jeep and figure out the issue. I spoke with Josh and he mentioned 3 options I had to resolving this issue. He recommended the cheapest option (installing a used transmission) for me based on the vehicle and my intended use; he mentioned that going with the other options (rebuilt or brand new) may not be the best choices because the Jeep is fairly old......I appreciate them recommending the most feasible option and not the most expensive. Initially, I was not able to get the repair done because of finances. So I paid for the the work they had done and towed it back to my house. Fast forward 10 months later, reached back out to them. They had my quote saved in their system. When I asked would it roughly be the same price, they said not roughly, it will be the same price which was also pretty awesome news as well. Got the work done; took about 5-7 business days and was back on the road. Have not had an issue with it. A big thanks to Josh and Mark(or Rick; sorry for not remembering) for making this repair experience a great one. I would highly recommend them to anyone and will be the first place I call if I need to have a similar repair done.

I took my 2001 MDX into Cincinnati Transmission Specialists to have the transmission checked because it was slipping and missing shifts. The vehicle has 235,000 miles on it and has never had the transmission serviced. Josh had his technician inspect the MDX and informed me that the transmission needed to be rebuilt or replace. He informed me he had never seen an MDX go this many miles without the transmission needing to be rebuilt. He said transmission issues usually appear around 135K to 150K miles. Josh provided me three options along with the pros and cons for reach. I chose to have the transmission rebuilt with all the applicable upgrades installed and it came with a 100K mile, 5 year warranty. Josh and his team are very professional and keep things simple so you can understand what needs to be done along with what your options are. They did an outstanding job at a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend Cincinnati Transmission Specialist for anyone needing transmission repair or any other auto repairs they may need.

My sister had taken her car to her dealership and was told it would cost $3000 to fix her transmission. As a long time member, I suggested checking Angie's List to get a second opinion. When I called and talked to Josh he explained that he thought that the price was high and offered to tow her car free of charge to his shop for a look. He did so that very day and in a couple of hours later he called and told her that the transmission only needed one part to be replaced and upon inspection of the rest of her car that the front break pads and rotors needed to be replaced. He gave her a very good estimate to fix both and she had her car back one business day later. We were both very impressed with Josh and Cincinnati Transmission. I would highly recommend this company for any car repair.

Replaced the engine in my vehicle and offered a 3 year warranty as well. The job was done on time and the vehicle runs great! Rick, Josh and the rest of the crew are always very courteous and professional. I take all my vehicles to Cinncinnat Tranmission Speacialist for all my automotive needs.

Cincinnati Transmission Specialists replaced the rear differential on my 2008 Kia Sorento 4-wheel drive after it failed.  The people at CTS were very professional and easy to work with.  The quality of their work is top notch.  I would definitely recommend CTS for any transmission or drive train work.

Josh was excellent.  The most important thing with complicated car issues is communication.  Cincinnati Transmission Specialists had excellent communication on the issues they were finding and the status of the transmission change.  They took care of everything.  He found a low mileage transmission to match our low mileage car and had it delivered 2 days after we dropped the car off.  Within a few days all of the work was done.
The price was right on for what these transmission replacements go for, so no surprises there.  We got lucky and had an extended warranty that covered most everything, so that was a plus for us.  They also were great here, communicating directly with the warranty provider and took care of everything without even involving us.

The service that this business offers is first rate. Very professional and courteous. Keeps you up to date on how repairs are progressing, easy to get in touch with. Very prompt service, offer the cities best warranty on replaced transmissions. I will continue to use them for all my future car repairs. These people are very honest!

It was my first time using the company and everything turned out very well. The staff was very professional and got the car back to me on time. They stayed within the quote they gave me. They completed the service in about 1 week. They provided a rental for me while they had the vehicle. It was very easy to get the car in for service.

My car's transmission failed on a Friday evening. I called Cincinnati Transmission Specialists after hours that night, and they answered. They came and picked my car up on Saturday for free and had the transmission rebuilt on Wednesday. They provided great service throughout the time my car was with them and kept me informed of what was going on.

They are very thorough, they go beyond just covering the surface of symptoms, and they really figure out what the problems are. We had some pretty sticky problems, we even had a recall work done at the dealer and they didn't do it right so we took over to Cincinnati Transmission Specialists and they did it right. So it was like, they did better than the dealers did.

They did diagnose my problem and it was more than I had originally thought I needed. But I was reassured and then they also fixed some other mechanical issues! They set up my rental car, they were right on time with the repairs, they truly went above and beyond with an explanations of why I needed certain things and showed me the parts when they were done.
I had a slight issue with a remaining noise and they came right over and picked up the car - took it to the shop and fixed it at no cost.
They returned it to my work and I could not be happier.
Even delivering bad news they were polite - thorough in the explanation and let me choose what to do.

From my initial exposure to the office staff member and employees, to the day I picked up my repaired truck, I was impressed with the care and concern expressed for the customer. While in the waiting room on my first visit, I met another customer who had done business with this company for some time. He recommended them highly, and now with my first hand experience, I can as well.

I personally dealt with three separate staff members, and each of them expressed a desire to repair my truck properly at the least expense. Prior to beginning repair work, Cincinnati Transmission Specialists called Dodge in an attempt to see if Dodge would repair the transmission even though it was out of warranty.

When it comes to automotive repairs, there is generally a sense of trepidation about the people with whom one has to deal with and the expense that will be incurred. In my experience with Cincinnati Transmission Specialists, the people with whom I dealt exhibited fabulous customer service and I would not hesitate to do business with them again.

They took me right in, right away. Friendly folks at a busy shop. Did not charge for test and estimate. Unfortunately they could not give a definite diagnosis without an expensive tear down/

My after hours phone call was addressed immediately with specific instructions on how to leave my vehicle safely overnight. I received a diagnostic update before 8:30am the next morning and even though they could not service my vehicle due to a manufacturer recall, the shop was extremely helpful in arranging the towing and repair with a certified dealer. I was at work, but was kept in constant communication via multiple phone calls with the status of the process and am sorry that I cannot give my business to the company at this time. The level of professionalism I received was remarkable. I would recommend their services to anyone in need.
