Appliance Repair
on Tuesday 3/21 I called Blue Ash Appliance Repair and explained to them my issue. They got in touch with one of their contractors and we set an appointment for 8-11 AM EST on Thursday 3/23. On 3/22 the contractor called me directly and said can we do this a little later in the day as he had a personal conflict. We aimed for around 12 noon. The morning of 3/23 the contractor said that it was going to be closer to 5 PM EST (after business hours) due to his personal conflict. I said that wasn't going to work and then he asked if we could move it to Friday and I said no that wasn't going to work as I was not planning on being home that day. Absolutely lousy customer service. The contractor was not keeping to his original 8-11 am appointment and despite me being a little flexible he couldn't commit to the new time of around 12 noon. I called Blue Ash Appliance repair and spoke to a manager and she said that there was nothing that she could do about it. I explained that I have a broken fridge and despite me putting a deposit down to hold the appointment I wasn't getting any attention to my issue. I cancelled my appointment and started calling other companies in the area. DO NOT GO TO THIS COMPANY. GO TO TRI-CITY APPLIANCE REPAIR INSTEAD. Blue Ash Appliance repair is very sketchy as well.

The repairman called the evening ahead of time to confirm the appointment.  He informed me that he didn't have the equipment in his car to remove the Freon.  He worked on the refrigerator for about 15 minutes, determined that the compressor was locked up, and it couldn't be fixed. He seemed to know what he was doing.
I thanked him for trying and asked to confirm that the $55 would cover this service call.  He said no...that the $55 "went to the company" and that he would hope to make something for coming out.  I paid him $40 cash and he was satisfied.
As he explained how things worked, I believe I understand that this company is merely a brokerage repair house..where, once they get the request of service call, they "put it out" to a number of independent servicemen.
Net, I'm out $95 just to confirm that my refrigerator couldn't be fixed.  Live and learn.
