Gary always does a great job.  He's honest, hard-working, thorough, professional, friendly, and takes precautions not to make a mess.  He is conscientious and lets me know if anything may be in need of future repair.  His fee is very reasonable, considering the time it takes to do this job, and I'd certainly recommend him to others.

The owner arrived on time to clean our chimney area and put covers out around the fireplace. He explained each step of the process and in  no way was bothered by any of our questions. He was very careful with inspecting the chimney and made sure it was safe to use. He also checked outside to make sure it appeared to be structurally sound. He used his tools carefully and made no mess on the white carpeting.
We also use this company as they are well versed in their field, careful, punctual, pleasant and affordable. We refer them to others!

They were very good. They pointed out some problems with the venting system. They were prompt, polite, and clean. They provided same-day service.

Because they told me this, I feel like they are a very trustworthy company. He did some additional work on another chimney in the fire box and he did a very nice job.

Gary arrived promptly as usual and extremely polite. He always sets up his equipment inside on drop cloths to keep our house clean. First he brushes all soot from the chimney. Second he cleans out the stove as well as cleaning the interior compartments. Gary is great and checks all concerns for possible fireplace problems as well as suggestions to avoid trouble down the line.

Gary made a concerted effort to get there asap. He helped out by inspecting and determined that there was only a "trace," of soot in the flue and that the inspector must not have inspected the flue, only perhaps the damper. (this same inspector screwed up other parts of his job). He cleaned what little was there, and was reasonable about it all.

They did a really good job. They informed us on what actually needed to be done. They were on time, showed up when they said they would, and it was a very good experience. I would highly recommend them.

Gary is meticulous in his work. He carefully prepares the site around your stove as not to damage nor leave ashes all over your floor. He cleaned my chimney as well as my wood stove. Every crevice of the stove he cleaned out.

Called to have my chimney swept. I received a quote over the phone and scheduled the sweep. He was very professional and thorough. I also requested to have the chimney cover/screens replaced. He said he would get back to me in a few weeks to install. I never heard back from him.

I hired the Associated Chimey Sweeps to clean and inspect the fireplace/chimney at a rental home. I wanted to be sure that it was safe to use before the tenants moved in.They cleaned it and gave me a written report. I thought the cleaning was adequate but the report was a little vague, example: firebox - some open joints; damper - replacement suggested; The report didn't actually say whether it was safe to use or not. So I called and spoke to Gary, the owner of the company. I asked if it was safe to use right now without any additional repairs or improvements. He told me yes, it was safe to use but recommended using small wrapped logs rather than a large pile of wood that would make a big fire. This seemed a little strange to me so about ten days later I called him again to confirm that it was safe to use and to find out more details of his report. What exactly he mean by his "suggestion" that the damper be replaced. That's when he told me that the damper could only be opened about an inch! I was shocked by this and asked him how the fireplace could be used if the damper could only be opened an inch. Wouldn't all the smoke go into the room? How could it be used like that? He said in order to use it you would have to take the damper off. In other words, the damper is broken. The fireplace is NOT safe to use. Yet, when I called him the first time he told me that it was safe to use and recommended using small wrapped logs. Nowhere in his report did it say that it was not safe to use in the present condition. Further, his report recommended the next cleaning to be done after two seasons of normal use. Gary was very friendly and knowledgeable. Very punctual.

It went great. Gary made time to see me the next day. He is friendly, informative, and talkative. He vacumed out the chimney and then swept it. He showed me outside what I can do (he offered to do it himself as well), to add galvanized mesh in a cylinder around my chimney vent. I feel confident I can go to the hardware store and get it done myself. It serves to keep birds from nesting up inside my chimney again. He gave me a contact to replace my exterior fireplace front if I wanted, and a good contact for buying firewood cheaply and locally. I would describe his work ethic as "Thorough."

Gary was knowledgeable, courteous and professional. He did everything that I expected and more, suggesting a coat of sealer on the exterior brick chimney to help preserve the brick and mortar. Our cap was a little rusty, but still in good working order. He suggested a cleaning every 2 to 3 years. We will call him again when the time comes.

The service was great. He arrived on time and finished faster than expected. He did a thorough job, cleaned up after himself, and even gave us tips on using and maintaining the fireplace for the future.

I reached Gary Youngberg and was able to schedule an appt for about a week later. Gary called to confirm the appt the night before and was here on time. He had quoted me a price of $110 over the phone but when he got here stated the price would be lower because the chimney wasn't as dirty as he anticipated. He answered all my questions before he started and explained everything he would be doing. He was patient and informative. He did a thorough job and cleaned up well. I will definitely call him again in the future.

Gary Youngberg is a very good job. He was very professional and explained everything he did. He was very neat and gave us helpful tips. He was very pleased we had called them in the past. I told him that I had seen his company on Angie's List and he gave us a discount.

I called and left a message on Friday. My call was returned that evening with the expectation that he would be able to come on Monday, but needed to check with another client to see if he would be available morning or afternoon. He called back on Sunday and was there Monday morning. He was pleasant and conversational, and got to work. He explained the damper situation thoroughly and told about the type of brush he used, based on the type of brick in the chimney. He was very nice to have come into our house, he knows his stuff and cleaned up thoroughly when he was done. He was very polite, and he was the only sweep that called back at all! The price was in line with quotes on the other sweeps' answering machines, and well worth it to have a nice guy come do the job.

We were very satisfied. He answered any questions we had and left the house cleaner than he found it. Highly recommended.

I left a message on their answering machine that I wanted to get an estimate for cleaning out my chimneys and left my home and work phone numbers where I could be reached. Gary called me at home that evening and when he didn't reach me there he followed up with a phone call at my office the next day. I told him over the phone what needed to be done and he gave me a price and we set up a time for the cleaning. He called me the day before the appointment and asked if he could come out and clean it that evening since something had come up for the next morning when he was scheduled to come out. He arrived a few minutes before the time we had scheduled. He put down drop cloths in the area where he was working. He was very professional and pleasant. He suggested several things to keep an eye on for future maintenance. His original quote was for $180 but since he was able to vacuum all the debris from inside and didn't have to go on the roof he only charged me $115.

Gary the sweeper was a few minutes late but called to tell us he was coming. He was so friendly. We enjoyed sitting and talking to him while he worked. He showed us the chimney before and after so we could see what an improvement his cleaning made. We will definitely call him in two years, as he advised, to have the chimney cleaned again.

The price was the best of the half dozen I called. Thorough 1-hour cleaning. I would definitely call them again.

HE ARRANGED A CONVENIENT TIME TO GET THE SERVICE DONE. HE CAME AFTER 5PM AND WAS 40 MINUTES LATE SINCE WE WERE HIS LAST APPOINTMENT OF THE DAY. HE WAS VERY FRIENDLY & TALKATIVE. HE PROVIDED USEFUL INFORMATION ABOUT THE CHIMNEY SUCH AS WHEN IT SHOULD BE CLEANED IN THE FUTURE. HIS PRICE WAS COMPETITIVE WITH OTHERS I CALLED. WE WILL USE HIM AGAIN IN THE FUTURE.
