Window Cleaning, House Cleaning
My contacts with Appropriate Janitorial were completely unsatisfactory and I would not recommend their services to others. I purchased a Living Social deal for window cleaning.
When I called Tina to schedule, she told me to call Tony. I called and he was in the middle of a job. I had to text him my contact info and he returned the call that evening. Either he didn't fully receive or read all of it because we had to go over all of my contact info again. I was reminded that it will cost $7 more if my zip code doesn't fall within the correct area (which I had already checked on the website) and that tips are accepted. Eventually we scheduled service for Monday the 9th at 10:30. I couldn't put my finger on why but I just did not feel confident about the upcoming service and exactly who would be spending time in my house.
I texted Tony to ask if he was an employee or contract labor and he said he was an employee. Nonetheless, I tried to call Tina by phone, couldn't, and then sent her the following email: "Tina, this week I purchased a window cleaning deal via Living Social. When I called Appropriate Janitorial LLC, I was given Tony's number to schedule the work. I just want to verify that he is an actual employee of Appropriate Janitorial (e.g., gets a W-2, is insured, etc.) rather than an independent contractor. Thanks." She did not respond.
I just felt like I'd regret going ahead with the service and was able to get a refund from Living Social. I then left Tina a message to let her know and ask that she inform Tony that I wouldn't need the service call since I no longer had his phone number. I never got a response and really did not want him to show up unnecessarily so I then texted her (as per her voice mail) and asked her to confirm that she conveyed the message. She responded that she would and asked why I cancelled. I told her and she thanked me for the feedback. I thought that was the end but just got a call from Tony on Friday, 11/6/15 telling me that his schedule changed and that he'd be coming at 1 something the following Monday instead of 10:30. Apparently he did not know that the service was cancelled so I had to inform him. Good thing I had cancelled as I had planned to be home in the morning for the cleaning, not the afternoon.
I felt that the entire communication process was unprofessional and required far too much effort on the part of the customer and far too little responsiveness from Tina & Appropriate Janitorial LLC.

Window Cleaning
Attempted to contact provider (Tina) at business phone number multiple times and left messages. No return calls. Contacted provider once by text (as suggested in the recording on her phone) and no response, Contacted provider once by email, no response. My impression was that the phone was set to automatically go to voice mail. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to reach this business to schedule a (prepaid) appointment for service, I realized the futility and have requested a refund.

Window Cleaning
An employee of the company showed up and before saying "hello" asked for gas money to pay for his commute. The owner showed up several hours later and cleaned some windows outside but never came inside and the windows she "cleaned" were still dirty afterwards. Not often I write a negative reveiw but this company is awful.

Window Cleaning
Very disappointing experience from start to finish. Very unprofessional outfit. I purchased a coupon on line to have 34 windows cleaned. After numeous attempts to schedule an appointment and numerous cancellations by them, they finally came out to clean our windows. The only equipment they had with them was a bucket and pole. We had to haul out our ladder. Two people arrived, but Tina left almost immediately. No idea why. He asked if we were satisifed with the job, but it was dusk when he finished so we didn't really know what they looked like. He also asked for a tip. My husband told him that the whole experience with the company had been poor and to send him out on a job without the proper equipment to do his job was ridiculous. Needless to say we won't be using them again or recommending them to anyone.

Window Cleaning
I tried for months to get an appointment. I was given an appointment date and time 2 months into the future (today). I called yesterday to see if I needed to do anything to prepare the windows (take down blinds, etc) and did not receive a return call. I was not surprised when my appt time came and nobody showed. No phone call, text, nothing. Just a no show. Very unprofessional.
I was able to obtain a refund thankfully, but I would not do business with this company in the future.

House Cleaning
I found a Groupon online for Appropriate Janitorial, and I purchased it. It was a great deal! I called the number on the Groupon to schedule an appointment in January 2013, and after a week of not receiving a return phone call, I called again. The owner asked me to email her the details, since she was "busy" and "multitasking", so I emailed her the dates, address, etc... She replied the next day via email asking the same questions I answered in the email. We scheduled an appointment for a Monday cleaning, and no one showed up. After waiting for 45 minutes, I reached out to find out where my cleaner was. I was told that someone had quit the week before. No one bothered to call me and cancel or reschedule. No apology. The owner then offered to have another cleaner call me to come same day and perform the service. The woman called, asked if she could call me back later, and I finally heard back after I left home that afternoon (after 2pm) and the appointment was for early in the morning. The whole experience was disappointing and unprofessional. I received an email from the owner the next day asking about my service, which was ironic since I never received service. I requested a full refund from Groupon and would not recommend this company. I don't know if they are efficient cleaners; however, in my experience they are not effective business owners.

Window Cleaning
I had bought a coupon on Cincy Savers. It was 34 windows for $59. I tried for TWO MONTHS to get them to come clean my windows and actually several weeks just to hear back from them....through a TEXT. It is safe to say they do not return calls and would only communicate with me through text. They cancelled 3 appointments?once hours before they were supposed to come clean. My husband had taken the day off of work to be there.
I have several french doors with decorative lattices on top of the panes. After two months of unreturned calls and cancelled appointments, they "did a drive by" (without my knowledge) and said that because of the lattice work, all 34 windows within my coupon would be used on TWO of my french doors....OUTSIDE ONLY. Obviously, this is useless and I am now scrambling to find someone else in time before 16 people stay in my house next week. Needless to say, I do NOT recommend them and am beyond disappointed. Unprofessional in every way.

Window Cleaning
I bought a coupon on CincySavers. It was $59 for 34 windows. The ad claimed this was for windows "inside and out" and some of the marketing even stated "leave your ladders in the garage." I have some pretty high windows so I expected a professional company with ladders. The first appointment I made she just never showed up. No call or email. I contacted her and she had no excuse. Just apologized and rescheduled.
For the second appointment, she sent her co-worker, Tony Morgan. He showed up with a bucket and a long pool with a squeegee. The day before he told me he would only clean the inside or outside of a window; that each side counted as one window, so the ad was very misleading. I have 34 windows exactly. He cleaned (almost) all of the windows in 1.5 hours. Since he only had a pole, it could not reach a few, so he just didn't do those without even telling me. Since the windows were quite a bit higher than eye level, he could not tell how streaky they were either after he cleaned one.
I looked out the window a few times and I could tell he was trying to see if there were streaks, but bottom line, he just couldn't. He was very polite and when he was finished he asked if I wanted to walk around and look, but he would have had to re-do the whole house. And again, since he's not eye-level, he never would have been able to tell. My husband and I re-did the entire house that evening. I would definitely not recommend this company.
