I had water leaking from the east and north walls in my basement. My landlord has attempted to finish the basement to make it into an apartment. The water coming in from the back door was so troublesome that it was getting under the stick-on tile flooring and running down to the drain system across the kitchen floor. I would have to go and put down towels to soak up the water coming in. If it rained hard enough, it would soak dry towels in less then an hour. I spent 12 hours trading out wet towels for dry towels one day. I had the manager, Todd Miller, come out and take a look. Todd is wonderful and very nice, but the workers not so much. They ended up installing a sump pump to try to rectify the issue. They left materials in my neighbors back yard, rather then mine like I had asked them to. They didn't seem as knowledgeable about the work that needed done as they should have been. I called Todd and explained what was going on and he came out right away. He put down new concrete to help waterproof the two walls and we haven't had a drop of water in the basement since. He was very pleasant to work with and even allowed us to wait to pay the last portion until the waterproofing had proven itself.

They completed some portion of the work and then walked away from the job. They strung me around for about 2 months before I had to hire another company to finish the job at a cost of about 1300.  I went back to American Structural Systems and explained what they had done and how much they owed me. They said they would reimburse me, but kept making excuses for about another month. They last contacted me and said the $800 would be sent via certified mail, but it has not shown up.
