We were not at all happy with Allison Landscaping; Allison had to be called on more than one occasion to ask when they would return as the lawn was overgrown. Also, Allison never sent the bill to a different bill to address that was set up at the beginning of the service and they were notified about the issue every month. The only thing that was good was the snow removal which saved them from an overall F rating.

Phenomenal. The crew couldn't have been any better. Very nice people that took a lot of pride in their work. They were able to start sooner than they'd promised. We were stunned with how well the yard looked when they were done - excellent job.

Nobody ever showed up nor did they call me to explain the delay of 3 weeks.

I called Allison for a bid and they bid me $1900. He gave me a $1900 estimate, which is a thousand dollars more than what it should have been. Extremely expensive. Everything I'm basing on is price. The other guy said they'd do it for $700 or $750 if he gets the time, but I didn't follow through yet. He was courteous when he came out.

They charged a premium for this service for the two years we used their service and only did bed maintenance twice when we complained. They overcharged for bi-yearly yard cleanup. Every time cleanup was scheduled they estimated one price then typically charged double. When we finally got fed up with their lack of service and fired them, then suddenly they "remembered" that they'd forgotten to charge us for items we'd purchased the prior year. We couldn't dispute if we'd gotten double charged since their bills do not detail what you're paying for. These guys are criminals. I would not recommend them.
Response from Allison Landscaping & Water Gardens

"Allison Landscaping did a Spring cleanup in 2009 and 2010. In 2009, [Member name removed] paid $1536 for the cleanup and in 2010 they paid $1491. We billed them less because it took less mulch because they had the proper amount applied in 2009, but they still weren't happy so we lowered the price to $1388 to get paid. Not sure what the so called extra charges were, because we billed monthly for the mowing we performed at there house. [Member name removed] also had Allison fertilize there yard four times a year, with billing upon completion of services."

Allison Landscaping had a reasonable price and they did a real nice job. They gave me a date when they would be here and they showed up on time. I also had a couple of bushes that died and they replaced them for no charge.

Again, per my note above and my previous Angie's List entry in July, I would never use these people again for anything. They couldn't perform the services agreed to in the past in a timely manner and now they are sending me a bill 5 months later after I canceled service? Very unprofessional organization. AVOID!
Response from Allison Landscaping & Water Gardens

"Allison Landscaping fertilized [member name removed] yard ONE time in November. [member name removed] expected to get rid of all the weeds in the yard after one application and the weeds covered 90% of the yard. Allison Landscaping refunded his money for the application done, after sending out a bill when the first application was completed and tried several times to collect. [member name removed] said he finally received a statement in July and still did not pay."

I contacted them in late March to hire them and get an estimate. Paul Mueller got back to me a few weeks later becasue he lost my information-no big deal we're all human. After contacting me, it took them a few weeks to get out to my place for application #1. Paul said that he was having a tough time with his applicator gun. The application took place on April 24th. Paul and I communicated by e-mail about my bill in June-it was five weeks before he sent me an invoice. I asked him how often they applied lawn applications which he never answered, but he did say that he would be out the next week to apply the next one-it had been awhile since my last application. He didn't come the next week and it's been 75 DAYS since my last application. The reason I hired a service is so it would be done on a regular basis. I e-mailed them and told him I'm discontinuing the service.
Response from Allison Landscaping & Water Gardens

"He was set up with a four step fertilization package. First step put down in March\April, second May\June, the third September\October and the last November\December. As he stated he had his first two steps done in April and May. The third step depending on the weather could and was late October due to the lack of rain received. If Allison Landscaping would have applied any fertilizer in the dry summer, he not having an irrigation system would have damaged his yard even further. He wanted a yard full of weeds to be weed free within a month or two which could have never happened. He said he cancelled services after the third application, but Allison Landscaping did not have a recorded of cancellation."

My neighbors were having Allison do some work as well so they decided to do the work all on the same day while I was at work. The privacy blocks they installed were suppose to be 6 to 7 feet tall which is on the contract. They ones they installed were only 4. I came home from work to notice they work stated in the contract was not done. Elaine came out to take a look at the work. When she got there she said things were not done correctly and she would have it fixed. They wanted to charge me additional money to install a few trees I wanted. The owner of the company said they were cutting me a good deal for the trees. I shouldn't have to pay for work that was never done in the first place. My sister and I went to their office to discuss her fencing project. As soon as Mr. Allison saw me he said both my sister and my contracts were terminated and stormed off. This was all being done in front of customers as well. His behavior was unprofessional in this situation.
Response from Allison Landscaping & Water Gardens

"[member name removed] and [member name removed] are sisters that had services contracted through Allison Landscaping and both talked about everything they wanted done, but were on limited budgets. Allison's trimmed their wish lists to meet what they could afford, but the tow sisters still thought they were getting everything they wanted at the price they could afford. The quotes they signed were for less work then what they wanted, which was told to them, but they did not hear. They also wanted to be home when the work was being down, but in landscaping you work when its not raining, not when a customer is going to be home. So when the job was pushed back because it was raining and we showed up the next day to perform the services they both were unhappy. If we would have shown up a week later they still would not have been happy. The small mowers talked about that damage the gate, fit through the gate fine. [member name removed]had a old split rail fence that was falling apart when we took on the contract. There was one split rail that keep falling down and Allison's would put it up for the first two weeks we cut the grass. The third week, the rail was broke in half when we arrived. This was explained several times over the phone to her, but she wanted something for nothing just like not all the services being performed for her Spring Cleanup. Allison's also has a retail store and during one of the busiest Saturday's of the year, the two sisters decide to come in and start complaining in front of a store full of customers. They were asked if Allison's could come out and meet them at the house early the next week, but they wanted someone to come out that day and would not leave until that happened. They finally left and Elayne, the sales person, went out to their house Tuesday of the next week. They were yelling at Elayne and she left without resolving anything. Realizing how they treated Elayne, a letter was drafted and being set out the following weekend, but they returned that Saturday before the termination letter was sent out, so it was handed to them instead of being mailed. There are times when you realize you cut your losses, because some people you will never be able to please and they want the world for nothing."

After the third incident with the fence I went down to the office to speak to Bob who informed me that he knew of the problems and that the worker said the fence was down when he arrived. At this point I asked to speak to the owner Todd, who told me that he was going to terminate my contract. He wouldn't even read the letter that I wrote informing him of all the details. When I informed him that I was an Angie's List member his tune changed and he agreed to meet with me the morning of 5/14/07 but stated he really didn't want to. However, after 3 attempts of trying to reach him on 5/14/07 I was given different excuses and was finally told by Bob (2 PM) I was to have been at the office. I said Todd told me he would rearrange his schedule to meet with me. After not hearing from Todd on 5/15/07, I went to the office & was handed a sealed stamped letter by Bob stating the contract was terminated. This is how Todd Allison resolved the issue.
