"I do apologize for the delay in getting you a revised quote. [Member Name Removed]. I gave you a quote right away just a couple days after meeting with you. You wanted some revisions made to lower the cost of the project and I explained that I was on vacation and would get you a revision the day I got back in town. I did mentioned to you that I was going to get pricing on a better quality lower cost decking options as well. We do understand that you were very upset by the lack of response but I emailed you while on vacation and had my auto response set up on my email explaining this and explained in the email that I was out of town on a family vacation and would have something to you when I returned. After you kept expressing your frustrations even after that, we realized we would not be a good fit for working with you."

"Please note: This is an "F" rating based upon a verbal QUOTE ONLY, written by a person with whom my company and its employees have had no interaction whatsoever. The only interaction we had was with the General Contractor with whom this individual has hired. While the post indicates that a "VERY high end luxury home builder" gave a quote that was 50%+ cheaper than my quote, I find it virtually impossible to believe since the COST OF MATERIALS ALONE for a 1,500 square foot composite deck EXCEED this supposed competitor's all-in quote. Is it possible to do a 1,500 square foot deck for significantly less using different materials than what we quoted? Absolutely! Is it possible that a deck of that size can be even more expensive based upon different materials and customizable options? Absolutely! We build custom decks, and the overall cost can differ based upon a multitude of factors. While I find it hard to believe that a "VERY high end luxury home builder" is willing to build a 1,500 square foot composite deck for less than the cost of materials -- meaning free labor, free demolition, and an overall loss of thousands of dollars on the project -- I guess anything is possible. We are not in business for just a single job, we are in business for the long haul. My response here is the same thing I tell all of my potential clients: Research pricing before you are interested so see what you can budget for the project. Get 3 different quotes, and consider the various price points associated with using different types of materials for your project. If you have a certain budget, see if the contractor will make suggestions to get you within your budget. Typically, I have found my company's bid is neither the cheapest, nor is it the most expensive you'll get. While we are competitive on cost, it is the QUALITY of our decks and fences which is what has allowed us to get "A" reviews and 5-star ratings on other sites from our clients who have used us to build the deck of their dreams since 2009. I am coming to the realization that Angie's list has no credibility at all. They let these kind of reviews happen from someone who we have never had even a single conversation with, they let company's pay to be on the top, not based on actual service and skill. I would recommend that this prior to going out of your way to post a negative review based on pricing, I would do a search on how much a composite deck costs. We actually have on our website as well and have had pricing posted on there for years. I am all about honest feedback and rights for your opinion but this individual has made a defamatory statement. Specifically, she indicates that my company's bid was high because of a purported conspiracy with the general contractor to "split the profit" once the contract was complete. Such an allegation is not only absurd, but patently false. We do not give verbal bids, but only ballpark pricing verbally. We actually write up a professional proposal via email it to our clients along with drawings or a sketch. They then have the option to say no thanks or accept the project."
