The last two years when the air conditioner was serviced they were saying there was a charge leak and added 6 ounces. Last spring still finding the charge to be low they added 7 ounces. They said we had a coil leak and it would be expensive to find such a small leak. Air Master's worker suggested using EZ Seal (stop leak)  telling us that Carrier, the manufacturer, approved its use. Prior to this the system was working. The whole air conditioner system is now ruined and will have to be replaced as all flow between the outside condenser coil and the inside coil has ceased. We have had two other HVAC companies look at the system telling us that there were other problems: The installation had bent tubing where an elbow should have been used thereby reducing flow to a trickle and causing likely damage to the compressor. The outside caps had their inside seals lost in servicing, probably causing the level of system leakage described above (not a coil leak).. We also learned that Carrier does not approve the use of this sealant and they refuse all responsibility for the problem. We contacted Air Masters to come and look at the system the end of April, they said they would call back to schedule an appointment, but never did. We are now glad they did not come as the incompetence we have now discovered would have only caused us more problems and money.
