KIRKWOOD'S SWEEPER SHOP

Isaac Christy was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and prompt (had it repaired in 24 hrs). He knew that it needed a new pump before he tore it down. When we picked it up the next day, it was not only fixed but cleaned to the point of looking brand new. We enjoyed talking with him and he easily answered our questions. We will definitely buy from Kirkwood's and go to them for repairs in the future.

My central vacuum stopped working. My initial call went to the Kirkwood Sweeper Store on Beechmont Avenue. To save me a possibly unnecessary service call, Bob Kassner at the store requested that I bring my sweeper hose in to make sure the problem wasn't in the hose. I did this and it was determined the hose was not the problem. Bob gave me a number to call for repair of the can. Chris Kirkwood responded to my call for repair. He found that the circuit board needed to be replaced. Chris also found a leak in one of the vac outlets and replaced the seal. I am very happy with my experience. Everyone was friendly and professional. Good communication throughout and my central vac is running great!

I loved using Kirkwoods and I bought the most expensive vacuum they had, per staff recommendation. I dropped it off for cleaning and was going to pick it up on my day off. I got there at 9:30 and waited for 30 min and no one opened the shop. I called and they said the would call the staff member that was supposed to be there. I came back later. Shop was still closed. I was told it was too far away for someone from another shop to get my vacuum. I live far from there too. They told me they were going to call me when the employee got there. No call. I left work early another day to get there before they closed because I HAD to vacuum. They charged me full price, approx $100 for the cleaning. Even though I've spent thousands there on vacuums, bags, cleanings ... etc. They were not concerned for the time of mine they wasted. The money I've spent there meant nothing. Being a regular loyal customer meant nothing. I deserved a discount or reimbursement. It saddens me that I made it a point to shop at a small business and they charged me full price for all that trouble. I told him I would go ahead and pay and just never come back. He said ok.

I was under the impression from their advertising that they stock just about everything, so I was surprised they didn't carry a filter for a common model of vacuum. I had the exact part number, but the sales clerk kept trying a visual search, suggesting to me "maybe this will work", etc. After 10 minutes or so of looking around, he finally went to the computer and couldn't find the part, then mentioned, "We might be able to order it, but it takes a week or two." When another customer came in, I gave up and left.

THE TECHNICIAN WAS VERY COURTEOUS AND THEY UN-CLOGGED THE SYSTEM QUICKLY.
