MUFFLER BROTHERS

I brought them an oldsmobile silhoutte 2003 for maintainance. Just change spark plugs , oil change filter change. They asked me if I wanted them to change the wiring and i Told them much rather not since the wiring would be good, they have nothing to do with performance. The mechanic said he might need to if they break or get stuck and I asked him how much the wires would cost he quoted me about $40 so i told him if it has to be then yes but try not too. I called them before i brought it in and was quoted a price of $150 for the maintenance itself before the wires so knowing that this would be a ballpark quote i figured plus the wires would cost me maybe 200 or 210 before tax.
Later that morning i got a call LOW and BEHOLD the wires miraculously broke and had to be replaced.
It jacked the price up to $270 before taxes They added labor for the wires while i asked NOT to replace the wires unless something happens to them. I did not ask the mechanic to break the wires.
I was not shown the parts (wires or spark plugs) they replaced.
 When i got home i opened the hood to check out these new wires and they do NOT look so new as a matter of fact they have scuff and rust marks on the wires which leads me to believe that they did not replace the wires but just jacked the price with that story.
The only reason i wend there is because i was quoted an initial price of $150 over $200 from another mechanic.
If I would have known they would jack the price up like that with unneeded repairs I would have opted for the other mechanic.
Yes I would have to pay 200 but atleast i know the other mechanic never jacked the price up after the quote.
I would not recommend this particular shop and go back to my old mechanic who is also on here Tim's Tires in chillicothe his prices are very reasonable most of the time lower then this one and never goes over the quoted price and sometimes even deal with you for a lower price.

I love muffler brothers. Tracy and Ray are friendly and call me by name. The repair requires them to get a part so i will have to return. I was shown everything without asking. It will take several hours and they told me i could take their car to get errands done or even bring it home and come back a different day. I trust their honesty--a priority for me.

It went well. I waited about 1 1/2 hours. I drive about 40 minutes to get there because i trust them. No dishonesty there at all. I've used them for several years and think its worth the drive for the assurance that they aren't going to rip me off. It's a family owned and staffed business. I hadn't been there in over a year as i do oil changes closer to home. Tracy remembered my name, which surprised me. Don't expect a bargain price, they might be a little high compared to some locally owned places-not sure. But prices are still fair. Work is usually good, but they are human and these are cars, after all so sometimes mistakes are made. My first experience with them was several years ago. A guy i worked with told me i needed a whole new exhaust system for well over $1000. I went to muffler brothers, they took my car back, and brought it back shortly, problem fixed. Loose screw and didn't charge me! They won my business that day! Sorry, can't replace honesty when it comes to car repairs for a woman!

Entire job took about four hours and he showed me the parts that they had to replace, the final cost was $10 cheaper than what he originally quoted for the work.

We have taken our car to muffler brothers for years we have a 93 ford tempo and every time something was wrong we took it there and Ray always took us back and showed us exactly what he had to do and what was wrong with it and if it was a possibility that something else might break while fixing it(it is an old car) and how much it will cost we have never ever had any complaints with them I refer any one to them that has any problems with there cars. there prices are the best in town. unless you know someone who will do it for free lol.
