BEATTY GENERAL CONTRACTING

Description of Work: Beatty General Contracting were supposed to pay for and install bathroom hardware for my bathroom sink. Well, they had my Mother pay for the items instead of them paying for it. This business is getting paid by a federal check from the USDA and all they are concerned with is money and not the quality, professional nor satisfaction of their work. I asked Lionel Beatty several times to stop cleaning their paint brushes and rollers in my kitchen sink, but to no avail, he still continued to do so. This created a mess over all of my newly washed dishes repeatedly as I repeatedly asked them to clean their stuff in my bathroom tub and he still continued doing this in my kitchen sink. I finally tried to resolve the problem by leaving both sides of my sink full of dirty dishes, but guess what, they cleaned their brushes and rollers on top of my sink full of dirty dishes!!! Lionel advised me that he was taking Lasiks and needed to use my toilet which was fine. I went to use it a few minutes later and there was pee all over my toilet seat, the back of the toilet and the floor. I asked him to clean up his mess and he refused to do so. I had to bleach my own bathroom so I told him to use the restroom at the gas station down the street. Lionel laughed and replied, "I bet I don't, I'm going to use yours anytime I see fit!" Well he did just that and peed all over my seat repeatedly to the point where I was bleaching it several times while he was here. I should NOT have to clean up the urine behind a grown man who is contracted to do work in my home unless he is completely incapacitated and out of it. Lionel and his brother Frank got into a heated discussion over healthcare while working in my home. Frank looked at me and said, "Yeah, so all those senior citizens out there as well as myself are paying for your Obamacare. You know, the senior citizens who had their healthcare taken to pay for people like you to have healthcare. Well, I'm paying for you to have healthcare and I can't even afford it for myself." I politely told Frank that I had healthcare long before Obama was voted into office and that I do NOT receive Obamacare, I'm disabled and pay for my own healthcare out of pocket just like anyone else. Frank replied, "No, it's people like you who receive all the freebies in life, I've never received anything for free so just continue enjoying your Obamacare and whatever else you get free!!!" I then asked him to either change the topic of discussion because I was born disabled or leave for the rest of the day. Well, he continued to work whole whistling about free healthcare so I just tuned him out. I should NOT have to be treated with such ignorant disrespect in my own home because I'm disabled and unable to work. I sat on my couch playing a game on my iPad one day while Lionel and Frank were working. Lionel comes in the room and says, "Hey, I bet you can watch p***** for free on that thing, can't ya? Yup, you probably sit around all day watching p***** on that thing all day long for free, man, I might need to get one of those." I reminded Lionel that I have no clue about watching p*****, that this was NOT a conducive topic of discussion in my home and how I'm appalled because he ministers the word at his church one evening a week when their pastor is out, which I listened to him do one evening at his church. He just stood there like he was in deep thought and I asked Lionel, "How would your church feel to know you're talking like this while on the job?" Well, he snapped out of his deep thoughts and left the room. Just amazed me at how he talked about God one minute then discusses p***** the next. The TWC guy was here to install all my services this past Friday in my home. Well as soon as the cable was turned on, Lionel sat down and began to tell me what channel to turn my tv on. I replied that I didn't want to watch the news and he proceeded to argue with me to turn it on because that's what he wanted to watch. So I obliged him and turned it on just to see what he would do. Well, Lionel sat there for approximately eighteen minutes and watched the news on my television. I turned the channel and advised him that there's work that needs to be done and how his brother Frank was diligently working. I began talking to the cable guy and Lionel said, "Man, don't talk to her. Just look at her. Can't you tell that she is pregnant just by looking at her man? If I was you, I would not talk to her man, yuck, gross, that's just disgusting!" I then turned around and told Lionel that he went from being unprofessional to being an unprofessionally ignorant because I've been celibate for the past three years and that if he didn't s*** his mouth and watch what comes out of it that he might get cussed out to the point where I will annihilate his feelings. The TWC guy says, "Yeah man, it's cool to be nice and talk and maybe joke around a little bit, but you're offending me by the way you're talking to her. I don't appreciate what you're saying either and I'm trying to work here." Well, Lionel just continues to sit there and watch television for five more minutes before returning back to doing some work. Lionel, "I've already told you this and I'm gonna tell you again. We're doing a $4500 job for $3000 so if I want to sit down and watch some tv, I'll do it." I replied that I'm pretty sure you're not in the business to do work at a loss of $1500 so,please spare me your lies. You bid the job, you knew what money was allocated for this job and you could've refused to accept this job so I don't want to hear that mess of lies again. I should NOT be sexually harassed by anyone contracted to work in my home nor have the TWC guy feeling uncomfortable either. Lionel bid this job and accepted it knowing that one of the downstairs rooms needed to have the walls patched up. One wall has fifteen patches that he did himself. When he bid the job, I specifically asked him if he was going to paint that room. He replied, "It's standard contractor knowledge that when you have to patch that many jokes just in one wall, that it must be painted. I don't need to write painting because I know it has to be done for it to look right." Well, Lionel refused to paint that wall and pulled out the contract saying the bid only says repair the holes, not paint. So needless to say, I reminded Lionel Beatty that he said he would paint the walls in that room. He said, "Well, I'll paint the walls but you have to buy the paint. Now I'm only doing this as a courtesy." I reminded him that he was supposed to be a man of God as he calls himself and how he has just lied his entire way through this job. Lionel then agreed to paint the room and get the paint himself. Well, that was last week and it's an entirely new week, a new day. Lionel refused to,paint the room and told me to do it myself. Beatty General Contractors were supposedly done with this job as of this past Friday, yet they didn't return my house key to me at all, even after I asked for it. They even called the contact person from the USDA stating they were completed and must be paid. Well, it's a rush to be paid but no rush on giving me my house key back. I've since filed a compliant with the BBB asking for repayment fir getting my locks re-keyed.
