"Thank you! It's been a pleasure servicing you!"
"We're sorry you feel that way. We were under the impression we rectified the situation with snowplowing by providing a refund."
My frontyard didn't look good at all and needed a lot of work. I've contacted a few providers off the Angie's list. Mark was the most responsive and a pro overall. Throughout the whole process he showed nothing but patience and desire to do the best job for us. He had good ideas on how to improve the frontyard. Mark's crew was very professional and worked really hard (and it was a hot couple of days.) The final product looks great and I've received a number of compliments about it.
I'm happy with the job Mark did and will hire him for future landscaping jobs.
Update on 7/2/2015:
One of the trees that Mark planted didn't take. I asked him to come out and take care of it while it was still on warranty, however, he didn't show up and later said the warranty ran out. I'm very disappointed with him not keeping his word.
The tree stump remover employee came a few days later and removed some of the tree stumps. Due to a neighbor coming out and telling the earlier employees that the trees were on his property (clearly they were not), they had to come back out again and cut down some more of the jungle in the back yard. A few days later the stump guy came again and removed those stumps as well. The problem I had was when they did not do the front yard, even though it was on the original estimate. Mark took a few days to call back, then sent another bill for an additional amount in the front yard. We had to call him back and point out the original estimate, then it was cleared up. The guys came back out and did the front yard.
I had tons of pachysandra and some bulb plants (that had become out of control in the seven years no one lived in this residence) throughout the yard that I specifically stated I wanted ripped out and completely removed, so that it would never come back. Instead, they took a weed wacker to everything, instead of digging up the roots to remove it. I was very displeased with that, as this was not cheap. Also, the employees showed up at random times and I never knew when work was going to be performed.
Overall, Mark seemed nice and I chose him b/c of other reviews, but I was not impressed with the two weed wacking/poor driving employees. The tree stump guy was much better and more professional. Mark needs to give all his customer's projects attention, not just the ones that run into the thousands of dollars.
"I would like to respond to this email by first pointing out that I never met the homewoner personally. I was contacted by her boyfriend who did not disclose to me that he did not live on the property. I met with him and went over the work. While my employees were on the job, a neighbor approached them and informed them that some of the trees in question were in fact not on our customer's property. So they were not cut down. Also, while on the job, the homeowner asked us to do extra work which was not on the estimate. I phoned the "boyfriend" and he assured me that I would be paid for the extra work. We later returned to remove the trees that were in question, at no extra charge. It was the right thing to do. We also performed the extra work and were not paid as of this day. There was a downspout pipe on the house which was cracked at the base next to the driveway. I never questioned repairing it for the homeowner. I never admitted nor denied that we damaged the downspout. I felt that due to the previous work related circumstances, it would help the relationship between us."
--This was the first time we hired a landscaper for the summer season and found his prices a bit high.
"I would like to respond to this report. Even though I received my first ever D and D grade in some categories, this homeowner is still using our service. To clarify, I was unhappy with the work that my employees performed at this property, so I DID NOT CHARGE for an entire month for grass maintenance. I also went to this property personally to perform the removal of several dead branches that were asked to be "shored up". It was not possible to tie up the plant. None of the area had been trimmed or cut back in years. There were broken and dead branches throughout this area. I apparently did not remove enough of them because he phoned, so I returned again. The homeowner placed ribbon on the branches in question this time. There was NO CHARGE for any of this work, even though I went to the property 3 different times."
Despite the fact that this was a very mild winter, the service was considerably below par.
My driveway was never plowed in a timely fashion. I leave for work early in the morning. I was assured by the company that the snow will be removed by 7AM, but this was never the case. In the evenings, frequently the driveway wasn't plowed until after 10PM. Weekends were worse. I didn't see their plow vehicle until early afternoon.
I tried call Mark various times, but he never picked up the phone or returned my calls.
Luckily this was a mild winter for us. I cannot imagine how terrible their service can be in harsher winters.
Given their lack of Professionalism and poor service, I would strongly recommend against hiring them.
"I am completely astonished to get this report. We have 5 customers on this street alone and did not get any negative feedback from any of the others. Three of the other customers have been with us for over 4 years. Our rates are competitive and our service is timely and dependable. It is very difficult to please all of the people all of the time, especially with snowplowing. We did not have any accumulating snow fall in April this year. In the past, if there has been a plowable snow accumulation, we have serviced our customers at no additional charge after the contract ended. This customer knew that prior to signing up and could have used a different company if that was a concern. I'm not sure why this was even an issue. I am disappointed to get such a low report rating. We provided all of the service that was needed in a timely fashion."
