"The drain pipe job was $5000, installed 5 drains and filled in drainage ditch. Upon finishing they were both happy with the job and paid $2000. Then they contracted me to replace entire front lawn and had us clear out their woods. When the woods was cleared they wanted to plant another section of lawn. Clear ditch in front and plant more lawn. [member name removed] was out with us most of the time adding work and all the work was priced. [member name removed] called us in to do more work and gave her the new bill. We asked that we pleased be paid before doing more work and the current bill was $13000 at that time. I gave her the bill in which she started screaming and throw the bill down. I asked [member name removed] what was wrong and he said he would talk to her. About 10 min later he came out and said he would call us soon. I tried calling them for 6 months to see what the problem was and they did not return our call. I hired a lawyer and which he sent certified letters and [member name removed] would not respond. I took her to court and she kept delaying the court date. One of her friends that we do work for called to tell us that she was going to leave the state. When the court date came up her lawyer said that she would be there and [member name removed] did not show up to trial. Both [member name removed] moved to Colorado. After the attorney meet, our attorney told us that they offered a $5000 settlement. My Attorney advised that we take it because it would be very hard to get her back to Ohio. For the trial we had all the pictures of us putting in the drain and it working propertly. We had pictures of the finished lawn and it was even mowed a couple times."
