I called a highly rated Angie's List plumber whom I had never hired before and because he would not be able to make an appointment until the following week and I was having major leakage into a first floor bathroom during snowy, cold February Cleveland weather, he recommended Bob Gootegoed of Pop-A-Doc Plumbing.

Bob came the same day. Diagnosed leak originating from a 2nd floor bathroom after emptying the cabinet himself (where the access door was located) and which he refilled upon completion. (I should have done that but didn't know he was finished in time to do it.) As mentioned above, he replaced bathtub drains.

He charged me the referring plumber's prices because he doesn't like to undercut and potentially take another plumber's customer. The charge was $65.00 for the service call, $95.00 per hour and $35.00 for materials.  He worked 1 1/4 hours. He also made a trip to the local hardware store for the drains and did not charge for the time away. His usual price is $80.00 for a service call and $80 per hour.

I think he did an excellent job and worked quickly. He's very personable, and he hooked up my telephone that had a splitter on it, to my printer, something I had been unable to figure out, even with telephone instructions. No extra charge.

The repair and repainting of the 1st floor bathroom will be done by someone else. I asked him for a handyman referral and was given one.
