This past winter water from ice dams seeped into the house on the north side of the roof, causing the ceiling in the living room to fall and the north wall of the living room to buckle. Mr. Fitch came out to the house three times and blamed the problem on everything but the new roof, including our gutter guards and our attic. Another roofer inspected the roof installation, removed six feet of shingles and discovered the ice guard that was installed was thin inferior quality. Nail holes in the ice guard showed rust signs signifying the water had seeped through the ice guard into the house. He installed superior ice guard and replaced the shingles. We will still have to do replace the ice guard and shingles on the south side of the house and have the ceiling and wall in the living room repaired.
