I had an initial meeting at my house which (I thought) went well. I was supposed to receive a quote including recommendations to outdoor bollard driveway lights. I did receive a quote fr some of the work, but never received recommendations for the bollards which was my chief project. I followed up with emails and phone calls and still got nothing. They completely dropped the ball.

These guys were truly exceptional. We were hesitant to even get an estimate from them because, since all they do is lighting, we figured they would be significantly more expensive than a landscaping company. We were wrong, they actually came in lower than both quotes we got from landscapers. I would say that they gave us a fair price, simple as that. The work they did was incredibly artistic. They have it down to a science and they nailed everything we asked them to. They came back out twice to make minor adjustments in a reasonable amount of time, and would have come back as many times as we needed. One thing to note, their fixtures all have lifetime warranties. You simply will not get anywhere near that from a landscaper. The wiring they did in the garage where they placed the control panel was immaculate. Totally professional looking. The installer was really approachable, wanted us to be happy (you could tell). This company does a demonstration at your home before you agree to anything, and I highly recommend that. The project in its permanent state looks better than the demo but it really gives you an idea of what they can do and what it is like to work with them. Can't recommend them highly enough. If you're doing a lighting project, make sure you call them.

if you're not one to read lengthy reviews and here's the short version: outdoor lighting perspectives is a franchise whose only interest is selling you their extremely overpriced fixtures and charging outrageous hourly rates for electrical work. For everyone else read on for the complete version of the story which is 10 years in the making.
Approximately 10 years ago I ran into the franchisee for the local outdoor lighting perspectives at the home and Garden show. Their pricing was so high that it was almost laughable however my wife owns an advertising agency and we bartered advertising for a pretty hefty outdoor lighting system. We had down lights on a very long driveway ( 12 lights) at least as many of lights on the hillside in the front of our home and probably six spotlights accent the house. The results were very nice and aside from bulbs burning out all the time that were insultingly expensive if you bought through them. I had no complaints with the company. Here's where it became a problem? Over the years you will need service on the systems, trees grow, landscapers cut lines, and fixtures wear out. When I called the franchisee I found out that the master company revoked his franchise and give it to someone else. My first experience with the new franchise was pretty much as expected. I asked them to come out and changed light bulbs and repair broken light and they sent two people ( so they can bill me for two people time) and tried to explain to me that I need to upgrade my entire system to an LED system because overall would be far less expensive lol. I realize that this tactic may work on some suburban soccer moms who have no understanding of the value of money because they get it from their spouse however it took almost all of my restraint not to just laugh at him. I asked him to replace a couple of light bulbs and fix the broken light nothing more. Then I got to listen to a dissertation about how I need to be in a light bulb replacement program which is only $500 year, that's right... $500 a year for them to come out and replace light bulbs that are burned out. The pattern here is extremely obvious this company is the equivalent to a buy here pay here car lot who is always working an angle.
When I finally sold my home I called the lighting guys because my new property has at least 25% more exterior lights and three three professional transformers. Some of the lights worked, some didn't, I just want someone to come out and fix what they could and disconnect anything that was unrepairable. Again, this company comes out because they need to give me an estimate instead of just billing hourly. I'll spare the reader's the entire story and just summarize the rest with the facts. The owner came out and spent two and half hours of my time lecturing me how all of my lights are garbage and need to be replaced with their incredibly overpriced plastic fixtures. He went into painful detail explaining the  very rudimentary physics behind electricity and white LED fixtures are more efficient than incandescent bulbs. Please understand this is not what I asked him to do. Over and over again I specifically asked them to give me a price to fix the wire and repair what they could. After a couple of hours of this he says he needs to put together an estimate and get back to me. For the record, if your so called professional cant give you a reasonable ballpark after two hours of walking around your property you should probably call someone else. Just as I expected he comes back with this outrageous estimate which includes replacing lights which I specifically said I did not want to replace. His estimate was approximately $1600 which was a slap in the face considering I made it very clear I just want someone to repair what I had. Again, he tried to explain to me that my equipment was substandard and needed to be replaced. I told him that I consulted with his company because they have a specific expertise in low voltage lighting and should be able repair my equipment as they advertise quickly thus inexpensively. The truth is they're not interested in providing any service other than replacing your lights with theirs. Here's the kicker he actually said I would be better off working with another company because he was concerned about safety lol. he even made a Hail Mary offer to help me save some money? He was going to sell me some used fixtures off of a project where the owner gave them to him for free. So he's going to charge me for equipment that he replaced another job? Naturally, I called another company who came out and found one of the three transformers were broken thus the reason the lights weren't working and identified most of my fixtures as Kichler, as well as the transformers. If you've done any shopping for outdoor lighting you'll know that this is about the best that money can buy. So, outdoor lighting perspectives was so incompetent and shifty that they were going to replace my professional lighting with their franchise garbage rather than just trying to find what was wrong with my system. Consequently, the landscaping company I hired who ultimately fixed the lights did itfor half the price of outdoor lighting perspectives and the yard looks great. (Naturescape, I found them on Angie's list)
You really should avoid these guys, there is absolutely nothing that they sell that you couldn't do on your own or pay half as much for someone else to do. At an absolute minimum you should always get at least two or three estimates... If you do that with these guys will find out how expensive they are and that their products aren't even comparable to professional lighting. It's basically the difference between a full-service pump at the gas station ( which really doesn't exist anymore) and getting out and pumping yourself for half the price. I suppose when you realize you didn't exactly the same thing, you feel stupid . Here's a tip... Check out eBay or even Home Depot, you can buy complete lighting kits and Transformers that are all LED for a few hundred dollars these days. If you can plug an extension cord in a wall, you could spend an afternoon running the cable along your house and clipping in the likes. It will save you an enormous amount of money.

"We are part of the largest outdoor lighting franchise system in the US which gives us tremendous buying power and access to the latest technology. Since I purchased the territory four years ago my team and I have grown the business by 300%. We have achieved success through professional design, service and support, superior products and fair prices. Our hourly rate is $10 per hour cheaper than the average hourly rate for electricians. In my four years of ownership I had no business dealings with member Miller prior to our meeting which took place in early August. I believe he wanted free advice which I happily provided along with a quote. I believe his feelings of ill will stem from an experience 10 yrs ago. We strive every day to satisfy our growing customer base and as the comments on this site illustrate I am very proud of what we have accomplished. I am also confident that we will continue to improve. Thank you for reading my response."

Outdoor Lighting Perspectives came to our house to show us a demo of what our house would look like with landscape lighting in our front and back yards.  We were looking to install ~8 LED lights in the front yard and ~3 in the back.  Tim was very knowledgable and did an excellent job explaining all of our options and the cost/benefit of each.  We appreciated the demo and it was great to actually see what the end product was going to look like vs. having to just guess. We had a few emails go back and forth with Outdoor Lighting Perspectives that did not come across as the most professional, so that played into our final decision. We believed that this company would do an excellent job installing our lighting, but it would come at a high cost and would require additional costs down the road for maintenance.  In the end, we ended up going with another landscape lighting company as they were cheaper, also had high-quality products, provided maintenance calls at no additional cost and were easier to talk/deal with.

As dependent as I am on Angies list to find the best people available I would be remiss if I did not recommend Tim Bickett of Outdoor Lighting Perspectives.  I called the office and set up an appointment with Tim, the owner, to come out and take a look at our project which was to light our newly designed backyard , highlighting trees and other features one of which was a waterfall.
Tim came out one evening shortly after I called and using real lights and fixtures he demonstrated  what the area would look like and made notes  as to what he proposed to do.  Shortly afterward he sent a proposal indicating all fixtures and lights he recommended using.
We accepted his proposal and he began work shortly thereafter.  His team was able to fiinish the project in a day and that evening we were able to enjoy our wonderful ?light show.?
There were a couple of things we felt needed tweeking and he came out as happily the second time as he did the first time to address our concerns.
All the personnel associated with the company are pleasant and helpful and know their product.  I woud not hesitate to reommend Outdoor Lighting Perspectives to anyone who wants a first class job!

Tim is very professional and willing to help. We had the façade lighting installed and the next night one light was not working so we contacted Tim and somebody was out the next day and it was an easy remedy with just a bad bulb. I had wanted the lighting to go on at dusk and off at 1am with the exception of the garage lights which would auto off at dawn (Tim was able to tie in our garage carriage lights and wire them so they go on and off with the façade lighting which was a bonus) so in Winter one leaving when it's still dark had light upon leaving their garage.

We recently decided we wanted all lights on from dusk to dawn and gave a call to Tim and we are able to do that with our system control whilst Tim is on the phone with us. He's always quick to respond and help.... No waiting around and calling with no return calls here. We are so far very impressed with his services.

"We do service all systems and have never informed anyone that we do not work on line voltage systems. We do not however purchase inferior product so we can provide cheap fixes. We recommend safe sustainable solutions and stand behind them with strong warranties. There are plenty of inexpensive, components available to the consumer. We only use products that have been thoroughly tested and are UL approved and have the appropriate IP 65 (minimum) rating. Profit is a nice thing, but the success of our business is based on relationships. We are always honest and up front with our 1257 customers and I believe they appreciate that."

Tim and his crew were very professional.  Tim did a night time demonstration for us and performed our tweaks as we requested.  OLP came back on 6/21 to complete the install to our satisfaction.  Tim returned on 6/24 to make some minor adjustments.  Upon installation in newly planted beds you could not even tell they were there.  Cleaned up and returned the beds to their original condition.  Very good company.  Would recommend and use again.  Thanks OLP!

The pole light located in our front yard near the driveway is gas but hasn't worked for a couple of years.  The mantles no longer work and the gas cannot be turned off at the pole because the screw has become frozen or rusted.  The gas company no longer services these type of lights so we decided to convert to electric.  After calling a couple of companies I discovered Outdoor Lighting Perspectives can perform the complete conversion without requiring a plumber to cut off the gas line.  The worker was able to cap off the gas line & run an electric line from the pole, under ground, along the driveway to the garage, along the wall of the garage then up to the electric outlet.  A transformer was attached to the wall underneath the outlet then plugged into a programable timer which turns on the pole light at dusk and off at the time we program.  The worker manually dug narrow holes along the driveway to the garage to lay the electric line.  When finished you can't even tell the line was laid.  The job only took about 2 hours.  All in all this was a wonderful experience for me.
