"We were brought in on this project after the original contractor was removed by the homeowners due to multiple issues, so it was a more difficult undertaking then normal. We were not involved in the original design or material selection, and that also changed frequently after we agreed to complete the job by the homeowner. There were safety and design issues unknown to the homeowners that required the original contractor's work needing to be torn out and replaced, and configuration of fixtures to be changed. If they had the original contractor continue and finish the job, there would have been major issues in the near future. We take pride in a clean work area and preserving the homeowner's belongings, as we lay down drops, plastic cover any items that could collect construction dust or damage, and put runners down to prevent traffic wear. If the level of cleanliness was not to the homeowner's expectation on a daily basis, we would like the opportunity to address it the first day. We would have liked the opportunity to address the minor issues brought up in the review during the project and after the final walk-through, and correct them as is normally done. We exist in a service-driven industry, and the level that which the reviewer received is far from typical for our company. We would have liked an all-A review from the homeowners, as nearly all our previous clients would have given (if they paid to be a member of Angie's List). Basically to sum it up, we came on this job as a favor to another contractor in the middle of the progress to already upset (and justifiably so) homeowners. We have professional tradesman with years of experience, and DID have to try hard despite the challenges to pick up from a disaster and complete the homeowners vision of the project, with changes part way through initiated by the homeowners. We will be more hesitant in the future picking up the pieces from another contractor's project for these reasons."
