Original construction of this 35 year-old house was faulty insofar as drainage off the roof of the main house at the junction point with the entranceway.. Water tended to overflow the gutter and sluice down the exterior wall of the attached front entranceway. When I was preparing the trim of the front entranceway for painting I found rot and carpenter ant damage. When I tore the wall off I found much carpenter ant and rot damage to the studs, and some deterioration of the inner drywall. Jeff removed the old studs and patched the drywall from the outside without needing to get into a major drywall replacement. He then installed new studs, insulation and the exterior wall. The manner in which the entranceway was attached to the main house at the roof line, although "pretty", compounded the drainage problem. He revised this attachment, while sealing the walls with ice and water guard, and he replumbed the gutter on the entranceway to drain directly into a downspout instead of dumping onto the roof and the into the roof gutter. The man knows house construction, and he did a fine job.
