Derek Bishop did work on my street last year and seemed to do a good job. We asked him to return and give us an estimate to replace our garage floor. The estimate was for $1500 and we gave a deposit of $500 on 3/19/2011 and signed the contract. All spring, summer and fall we waited for Derek to come do the job. We called at least weekly, if not daily. He kept on promising to come the next week. He finally came on 11/22/2011 and pulled up the concrete floor, promising to return the next day and have the job done by Thanksgiving. We then paid him another $500 to help cover the cost of the concrete. He did not return until 12/8/2011 to pour the concrete, when it was getting in to the upper 30's for temperature (not good for concrete pouring). At that time he asked us to pay the concrete truck driver $650 in cash and promised to return and put a sealer coat on the driveway for $100 and return $50 to me for the overcharge. He did return to spray the concrete. It doesn't look different and I am not really sure if he put a sealer on the concrete or just sprayed it with water. He never did return the $50, although he tells me he is going to drop it off. He did write in the contract that he will give a 2 year warranty on the work against cracks and crumbling. I must say that Derek did all the concrete work himself and that the work in the neighborhood has lasted for the last 1.5 years and through one winter.
