Chagrin Valley Tub & Tile Resurfacing

We were very pleased.

They showed up on time, were fast and efficient, and cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. The tub looked like new, and 3 months later still looks good. They gave us very detailed instructions on how to care for the new tub.

It went very well -- he came and looked at the work, came back to do a color match and provide an estimate, and then came a third time to actually do the work. He was very professional and a pleasure to work with.

One tub has been excellent, no problems. The second and larger tub has peeled twice. They have come back out both times to fix the issue. Since then it was had minor flaking, for which I have not called them back for yet. They did make good recommendations for how to maintain the tubs in the future. They do provide a two year guarantee on the work, and it looks good.

From the start, my communication with the company was wonderful. I had to reschedule the first date due to work being done in my bathroom. After the work on the bathroom was done, Chagrin Valley came out and re-glazed the tub. The tub looked great. They even re-caulked around the new tub. I was most pleased. After a few days, a small 'rust' spot appeared near the drain spout. Secondly, there were two noticeable small areas (5"x5") on the base of the tub that were not as white as the rest of the tub. It appeared that they did not get the same amount of glaze as the rest of the tub. I called Chagrin Valley Tub and Tile five times and they haven't returned my call. This is very frustrating. When I called to make the original appointment, a rep. from the company called me back promptly. Now no one returns my call. Since then I have checked out the company on the BBB website and noticed that they have had quite a few complaints made in regards to warranty work.

Everything was positive. I think the price was very good compared to other people who offered the same service.

I called Chagrin Valley and left a message regarding re glazing. With just a couple of hours, my call was returned. I was given an estimate of $199 and information regarding the process. An appointment was scheduled within a week. The day before, I was called to confirm our appointment. He arrived when he was supposed to, was friendly and professional. He did an outstanding job. Our tub was approximately 35 years old and it now looks brand new. You have to leave the tub sit for 24 hours and it has kind of a strong odor that disappears in about 5 hours. We left a window open and a fan on. We went to the mall and to dinner and when we came back there was very little odor left. A job well done.

Overall I am pleased with the project. There were some scheduling issues at the beginning. First my early morning weekday appointment was moved to mid-morning, and then contractor was late (although he did call to let me know his progress). Once he arrived he determined that it was then too late in the day to begin the project, as it was more complicated than he had expected. He agreed to come back and start on Saturday afternoon, finishing on Sunday, but then he canceled Saturday. Finally he arrived on Sunday and completed the job in a very reasonable time. The refinishing appears to well done.

They were the most reasonable.

The owner of the company came himself to do the job. He thoroughly explained the positives and negatives of tub refinishing. He returned my calls punctually. He was very professional.

I am pleased and will use him on the next tub. He stayed in contact with me and was very professional. As a contractor myself I was pleased with how he conducted himself and business.

THE OWNER CAME OUT HIMSELF TO GIVE US AN ESTIMATE THAT WE THOUGHT WAS FARE. THE WORK WAS COMPLETED WITHIN A WEEK (TOOK ABOUT 2 HOURS) AND WE ARE VERY HAPPY WITH IT. THE BATHTUB IS VERY OLD AND IT WAS LOOKING EXTREMELY WORN. IT WOULD HAVE COST US A GREAT DEAL OF MONEY TO COMPLETELY REPLACE THE TUB, BUT NOW WE DON'T HAVE TO. THE SMELL FROM THE CHEMICALS WAS A BIT OVERWHELMING AT FIRST, SO DO IT WHEN YOU CAN OPEN THE WINDOWS.

IT HAS BEEN ALMOST A MONTH SINCE THE TUB WAS REFINISHED AND NO PROBLEMS. LOOKS GOOD. THE ONLY ISSUE IS A COUPLE OF SPOTS ON THE TOP LEDGE OF THE TUB WHERE THE REFINISHING POOLED SO YOU CAN SEE WERE THERE IS EXCESS COMPARED TO THE REST OF THE TUB.

BATH TUB REFINISHING - THE FINISH IS NOT SMOOTH IN COUPLE OF SPOTS - THERE ARE SHARP THINGS STICKING UP (COLLAPSED BUBBLES) WHEN CALLED ABOUT THIS - THE PROVIDER SAID TO SAND IT DOWN - MEMBER FELT THEY SHOULD HAVE COME BACK OUT!
