Certified Renovation & De-Ice-It
About us
What is the De-Ice-It System? De-Ice-It is a professional alluminum alloy panel and high tech cable heat system. Affixed to the eaves of your home, De-Ice-It transfers heat normally lost in the air into high performance snow and ice melting. The panels provide an attractive blending into the shingles on your roof and providing a new drip edge. Panels are strong enough to be walked on without any damage. De-Ice-it is permanently mounted and designed to last a lifetime on your home. It is 10X more effective than cables alone, and has received accolades from Architects, Commercial and Residential builders. De-Ice It is currently installed on many residential and commercial buildings. How does it work? The De-Ice-It works like a radiator and works equally well on existing buildings and new construction. De-Ice-It is energy efficient! It costs about one-third less than a typical cable installation to run -- and requires no maintenance. The panels protect heating cables from falling limbs, ice and snow slides, animals, sunlight and other conditions that shorten useful cable lifespan. We accepted the quote and during a 3-5 day warm spell in March they installed the solution. This involved installing 3 electrical runs to our breaker box and a switch installed in our hallway. These were then snaked through our attic to locations on our eaves. The actual panels were installed under the last row of shingles and are about 5 inches wide.
We were able to test the system a week after installation and from a pretty wet and heavy snow we had a clean roof 5 inches up the shingles. No icicles at all. The real test will be this coming winter. If I remember I will edit my comment on how it does. We can have icicles 5 ft long almost touching the ground so this was a problem we really needed to fix.
The whole project went very well, and I would recommend Rob and his team.
