My overall experience with them was good. It worked pretty well. I had a lot of changes. I did not get comparison estimates at all, so I do not know about his prices. A friend of mine recommended him to me and he did a very good work. The work he detailed, I would have changed but I did not bring it up at the time because we were just trying to do so many things and I had so much going at the time because our basement had been flooded. We are going to use him again. He is real punctual. When he says he will be here, he does tend to be here. He does not say I am going to be here on Tuesday and you do not see him until Friday. So, he is very good at that. He is very good at managing multiple tasks and projects. I would say the quality of his carpentry is excellent. I would say his willingness to be open with ideas, because I used some salvage pieces, etc., that took a little more work around, was very good. He is always cheerful, it is hard to believe but he seems to always be on a good day. So, I did not have any problems with him regarding how he worked with me or communicated with me. There were times when he was frustrated with my changes, I guess the only feedback I would have along those lines is there were times when maybe he did not present me with all the options and I would have probably upgraded things a little differently if I would have had the options. Like, he got bi-fold doors that were a little clumsier than I would have gotten and I would have gladly paid the upscale or the up-charge to get better ones but they were already in and installed by the time I saw them. I had been trying to budget carefully on other things, so he may have had the thought that I did not want to spend the up-charge. I would say his prices are not out of line for his attention to detail. So, for the price he is very good. He priced accordingly to the quality of the work that he did. Regarding quality we had some lack of communication, which was probably on both sides. Regarding responsiveness, I would say that there is a waiting list for him and sometimes it is hard to get on that list, and if you want something done right away you cannot always get through him and that is all because he is busy and that is all because he is good.

The project was finished in approximately two and a half weeks spread over two different periods because we needed to await the arrival of the cedar railings. The construction is very sturdy and balanced and we have seen no movement in the course of the year.
The installation of the railings seemed that it would be difficult in that the pieces were milled out of state and transported to Hocking County. Inspecting the deck, one would think that they were built on site as they were assembled extremely well and there are no gaps or inconsistency in the construction.
Many of our neighbors have highly complimented our project and asked for our contractor's name. We have willingly given it out and recommend the firm highly.
We marked the price as and quot;Band quot; above because the contract price is fair and not cheap but it is always our preference to get a job well done rather than the cheapest deal.
We have not had to call the contractor back with any complaints or adjustments.

Nick is always timely, courteous, helpful with suggestions, clean-up each day and at job's end, and fair in pricing. He communicates well re schedule and job issues and is respectful of our time. Nick is our go-to guy when we have need for construction, remodeling or upgrades.

The project went very well, especially those areas that Nick was responsible for. We had some minor snags with the different contractor we used for the vanity and granite, particularly the granite pieces. Nick was very patient as we worked through those problems, that ultimately impacted his schedule and coordination of getting the shower enclosure installed.
We do have more projects on the horizon, and will definitely be giving Nick a call when we are ready, and highly recommend Diven Contracting for those who are considering remodeling or who might have other home construction projects.
