Awful sales pitch to try to get you to buy a new furnace, was told my family could potentially die if I did not buy a new unit due to carbon monoxide but they were nice enough to charge me a whopping $390 to replace an ignitor which took the tech around 90 seconds to replace. Would have been $480 if I didn’t ask the tech if they could waive the “service” fee. You live and you learn I will never use this company again and would not recommend to anyone. Some companies have integrity

On Friday 7/19/19 I called Advance Heating and Cooling to diagnose a problem with my A/C. When the tech, Shawn arrived, he took the cover off of the furnace, reached inside and told me that the blower motor was out. He never did any other tests to rule out any options that wouldn't involve me replacing the entire unit. Afterwards he gives me an invoice for 935.00 that states that I needed a blower motor and a motor mount kit. I was also charged 89.00 for the service fee. After researching the issue and seeing that the "diagnosis" that the tech gave (by sticking his hand in the furnace), was rare, I opted to get a 2nd opinion. The HVAC handyman that I asked to check the unit ran an electrical test. He was then able to conclude that it was not the blower motor, but in fact, the compressor. The total for the repair was 70.00 vs. the 935.00 that Advance tried to charge me. After I called Advance to explain the situation and request the diagnostic fee back, they had the manager (who was not involved in the service call) call me back to explain that although his tech did not go through the necessary measures to diagnose the issue, that there was nothing that he could do about the fee.
Response from Advance Heating and Cooling
"Thank you for your review [Member Name Removed], We dispatched Shawn to your residence on Friday July 19. Fortunately we were able to respond to your call the same day. Shawn diagnosed the problem as a seized blower motor and manually broke the motor free. He then called the home warranty company and explained the problem to them. On July 23 we were alerted that the customer was not happy due to using a handyman that they found via a Facebook post. It is the customers’ opinion that we misdiagnosed the issue. We informed her and her significant other that if the fan was seized and was then broken free by our tech, that it would work for a short amount of time before seizing again. The customer was not interested in this explanation and was only interested in a refund. The customer was informed that if she felt we made an error, that we would have been happy to have come out again if she would have only contacted us first. Once she had a handyman perform work, she is now working with that handyman. We do not know the handyman’s credentials, if he/she is a certified technician, etc. I would like to apologize for any confusion, but we stand by our diagnosis, as Shawn has over 23 years in the field."

It went very well. Punctual, professional, fair pricing. They were wonderful! The owner came out and answered all my questions. The work started in two days and was completed in one day. Installation, checking of new system, and cleanup were excellent. They will be servicing my new Rheem system in the fall and spring!

They unclogged the drain lines on our dehumidifer which we felt was causing a leakage problem. After more leaking, they came back and did more work on the drain lines and suggested that the floor drain nearby was running slow and could also be a problem. Although the leak problem was much better, it still was leaking some so they came back again and spent a lot of time completely taking the dehumidifier apart and determining and correcting the problem which was an unusual one. In spite of all the time spent, the only charge was for the original visit which I felt was more than reasonable. We have used them for a number of years and find Shawn and his guys very pleasant and honest to work with and they always strive to go above and beyond to do what is needed. I would totally recommend Shawn and Advance Heating and Cooling to anyone!

Bought heat pump in 2012 (from vendor) with warrant on parts for 10 yrs. On May 16th the Tech came out checked everything took 30 mins to find the problem. Need a new defrost control board and they would have to order one. Tech gave me the invoice: Labor to install the new defrost control board $250.44 plus shipping and handling $82.74 plus todays diagnostic work $69.00=$402.18

After I picked myself off the floor the tech called the office and asked if they could waive the shipping and handling...office said OK. I believe they got the part in Cincinnati, Ohio 2hrs away. Package weighted 5 pounds.

I asked the tech how long would it take to put on the new defrost control board and he said maybe a half hour. Then why are you charging me $250.44? He said that is what the book states. I believe this price is outrageous.

On May 27th, tech was scheduled to come between noon and 2pm. He came at 2pm put the part in and it took 20 minutes. The charge for labor $240.44.

So for a heat pump that I bought in 2012, already needing a part that costs .00, and paid for a 20 minutes labor job $250.44

Never will I use them again.

Response from Advance Heating and Cooling
"We are sorry you fell this way. There is a lot more to a warranty parts than the time it takes to install the part you have administrative time to fill out the warranty paper work there is the time spent packing up and delivering the warranty parts back to the vendors to be processed and many more things."

These guys are great! Their service goes back 2 years when our furnace went out. They were quick to respond. Since it was early morning they didn't have the necessary parts so they provided numerous heaters to help keep us comfortable through the night.
They offer a inexpensive monthly check up plan that provides 2 yearly check ups, which have been beneficial. Great personal service with affable technicians!

These guys are wonderful! They've had to come out multiple times because
my A/C just kept breaking. They only charged the first time and then
came out at no cost until the thing was finally fixed! I highly recommend this company!

I was surprised that it took Shawn only a few minutes to diagnosed the problem and to do the temporary fix. I was glad that he did the temporary fix. It showed that he cared enough to not leave un in 95+ degree weather without the AC. When he came back to install the transformer, again it just took a few minutes to perform the work. I was very happy with the work and his prices were the best I found.

We used them about two or three weeks ago. Our air conditioning went out and the owner sent out someone to take care of it but I didn't even know what was wrong.

I am very impressed and satisfied with the excellent work and professionalism of Advanced Heating and Cooling. I have already had them come out to my business to service our air conditioner with equally great results. Thanks Sean for the above and beyond service at a very reasonable price.

Initially I planned to go for a much larger A/C unit, but Shawn talked me through the process and actually recommended that I downsize from what I wanted to purchase. He then described and answered all of my questions about setting up heating/cooling zones in my home. I went with three zones and it has made a tremendous difference in the areas like my bonus room that were difficult to control the temperature. Advanced Heating and Cooling was VERY professional throughout the installation process. There were some defective parts he received from his supplier, and I know he could have passed them off to me without me knowing...but he didn't and because of having to reinstall some baffles that weren't working up to standard, the job that he anticipated would take two days, actually took four. I can't be more happy and satisfied with the system that I have, the service I received, or the follow-up that was provided. I even got a box of gourmet cookies about a month after my installation, along with a nice card thanking me for my business. No one like to have to replace their heating and cooling system, but my experience was wonderful with Advanced Heating and Cooling. Highly recommend.
