I really like Waste Management. They are really good, but I'll tell you I am paying prices a lot. When I received my last bill, I realized that I am paying almost, what are they charging? I am trying to figure out how many months they are billing me for. But, if I am not mistaken I believe they are billing me three months at a time.

They're great. They are really great. Whenever there is a holiday, and they're not going to be picking up on certain days, I always receive an email in my inbox explaining, so I don't have to hold it out on a long day. If we have increment weather and they can't get out, like we had about, the last snowstorm we had here, I guess it was about a month ago and it was really bad, I was noted for ten days they couldn't get around. They send email. Actually, they send me an e-mail and they also called and left a message on my answering machine.

Every time I receive the statement, it's increased.

I have an ongoing experience with them, they're really good. They always come on time, or if they're not going to, like on holidays, they move their schedule at a day, I like their efficiency, I think their price is competitive with other companies.

I signed up for an account online on February 6, just after moving to my new home.  One of the options I was given was recycling, which was the very reason I chose Waste Management.  Two days after I joined and paid, I got an email telling me that they don't do recycling after all.  Talk about misleading and false advertisement!  I did get a refund of the amount I paid for recycling, but it still didn't make me happy that they claimed to offer the service when they don't.  As of February 19 I STILL haven't gotten a bin from them or any information regarding pick-up days, etc.  I called on February 16 and complained about the total lack of communication and service.  I was promised that a bin would be delivered that day or the next at the very latest.  Now it is 3 days later and still no bin.  I have emailed them and requested a complete refund and cancellation of my account.  I will never use them again and would never recommend them to anyone for any reason.

They were very nice over the phone and were trying to save me money when I called.  They were cheaper than the other company in the area so I went with them.

For nearly 2 years waste management has performed the garbage collection at my church. About 5 months ago we started noticing that the driver of the dump truck was rolling into the church parking lot, grabbing the dumpster, and emptying the dumpster. This was a changed routine from the driver coming through a side alley, grabbing the dumpster and then dumping the trash. We finally called waste management about it. They sent a guy out, but he placed a sticker on the dumpster warning of over head lines. They never gave us anything official, but claimed they spoke with someone at the church. We called and called for 4 months. Still no answer. I called their corporate office mid-October. Everyone said they would get back in touch. I spoke to a person named Judy out of Michigan, she said the church caused the damage. My suggestion is to stay away...

We really had no complaints or problems with the actual garbage collection during the time we used this company. They were always prompt with the collection. I was disappointed during the last year, however, with the service I received from the administrative offices. The first problems occurred when they added an administrative fee to the bill if you received a paper statement. Once I realized there was a fee, I went on-line and thought I set up an on-line account to receive email statements/make on-line payments. Apparently, I did something wrong and ended up making a "one-time" on-line payment and the next month I received another paper statement and fee. It took several phone calls to get everything in order, and I still don't know what I did wrong in the first place - the website was not very clear in regards to setting up "one-time" and on-going payment options. Our second problem occurred after I put a mattress out with our weekly collection. I should have called to find out the company policies ahead of time. I didn't, assuming that if they took the mattress, everything was good, and if they didn't, I would drive it to the dump myself. I was very surprised, therefore, after they took the mattress, to find an extra charge for $33.74 for the mattress removal. When I called the company to question/complain, I was told that technically the driver should have left a note with the mattress stating what the charges would be for removal, thereby giving me a chance to remove the mattress and avoid the charges. However, since they took the mattress, the charges would not be reversed, even though I was not made aware that there would be extra charges. Once we decided to cancel our service, we had to leave our collection tote at the end of our driveway so that they could come and get the tote. We were told they would get it within 8-10 business days, and it took closer to 16 days and several phone calls for them to come. I also had to make a phone call to verify that the pro-rated portion of my last payment was being refunded.

A Waste Management salesperson contacted us while we were still under contract with another company. The price he quoted was about 65% of what we were paying. He reassured us that we could sign with Waste Management and that the service would begin when our contract ended with the other company. He also promised to take care of the cancellation of the other company. Neither of those things occurred. WM's dumpster was delivered over a month early, and luckily I checked myself about cancellation because it had not been taken care of, and the contract would have renewed. Then I had to deal with rectifying the billing, because we were getting charged for the service of the dumpster which should not have begun until our other contract ended. This took numerous phone calls and letters. Then they attempted to increase the price after 10 months, because their records showed the account anniversary earlier. The dumpster service itself has been fine, they always pickup as scheduled.

Great service. Reasonable price. Never a problem in getting something refused for pick-up.

They are here to pick up every Wednesday (without fail), and stack the cans so that they are secured safely and not rolling into the road. They pick up almost anything in any amount I put out there. They make sure that my lawn is trash free without litter, even with the strong Ohio winds!

Pretty consistent pickup. Could do better at making sure all the trash makes it into the truck and not in the street.

I think they charge too much and they tend to leave my garbage cans scattered. Another service in my neighborhood always seems to leave the cans upright with the lids upside down in the top. I will probably be switching soon.

I was charged $25 to set up an account with this company. I did so only after I had called around to compare price quotes. The quote I was given for this company was too low because it did not include the Environmental Fuel Charge. This company charged nearly three times the amount the other companies charged for this fee. Based on this, I cancelled my service but was told I still had to pay for the $25 set up fee. Only after asking to speak to a supervisor and explaining why I was discontinuing the service did I get that fee refunded. Regardless, I would not hire this company again, because I cannot trust what I am being told and it was an incredible hassle to get the refund that was due to me.

I THINK THEY ARE A GREAT COMPANY, BUT THEY HAVE TERRIBLE EQUIPMENT. I HAVE FOUND THAT THEY ARE LATE. THE MEN COULD LEAVE THE AREA CLEANER, BUT THAT COULD BE MY RESPONSIBILITY, TOO.

WE HAVE NOT BEEN HAPPY WITH OUR GARBAGE COLLECTION. OUR PRICE MORE THAN DOUBLED, AND THE SERVICE SEEMS TO HAVE DETERIORATED. THEY RECENTLY SWITCHED THE RESIDENTS TO USING A HUGE 90 GALLON DUMPSTER THAT HARDLY FITS IN ANYONE'S GARAGE, AND WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE THEM ON OUR DRIVEWAY. WE WERE ONLY GIVEN 1 RECYCLE BIN, AND THEY ONLY PICK UP RECYCLABLE EVERY 2 OR 3 WEEKS. EVEN WITH THE EXTRA RECYCLE BIN I REQUESTED, AND WAS GIVEN RELUCTANTLY, THEY OVERFLOW BETWEEN PICK-UPS. LAST WEEK MY HUSBAND SAW THE RECYCLE BINS BEING DUMPED IN THE REGULAR TRASH TRUCK BECAUSE THERE WAS ONLY 1 MAN WORKING. THE TRUCKS LIFTING THE DUMPSTER LEAVES DEBRIS ALL OVER THE STREET WHICH DID NOT HAPPEN WHEN THE MEN WERE DUMPING THE CANS. THEY ARE ALSO MUCH MORE NOISY BECAUSE THEY BACK UP SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL THEY LINE UP THE BACK OF THE TRUCK WITH THE DUMPSTER THEY ARE PICKING UP.

ALTHOUGH THEY WERE PUNCTUAL IN DELIVERY AND REMOVAL, THEIR BILLING HAS BEEN A TRUE NIGHTMARE. ALTHOUGH, THEY DAMAGED MY DRIVEWAY, THAT'S UNDERSTANDABLE, DUMPSTERS ARE HEAVY. HOWEVER, THEIR HANDLING OF A BILLING ENQUIRY IS ABSOLUTELY APPALLING. THEY HAVE REPEATEDLY MADE PROMISES TO ME WHICH THEY HAVE NOT KEPT INCLUDING PROMISES TO CALL BACK, PROMISES TO REVISE CHARGES PROMISES TO DISCUSS THIS WITH MANAGEMENT AND PROMISES TO SEND ME A REVISED INVOICE. AT THE TIME OF THIS WRITING, A SERIES OF 4 VOICE MAILS TO THEIR MANAGEMENT HAVE GONE UNANSWERED AND A CALLBACK FROM A CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER WHICH WAS PROMISED HAS YET TO OCCUR IN 72 HOURS (I WAS TOLD IT WOULD OCCUR THAT AFTERNOON).

I HAVE CALLED THREE TIMES SINCE THAT AND I CAN'T GET THEM TO PICK UP THEIR TOTES THAT HOLD THE GARBAGE. I HAD TO GET NASTY ONE TIME AND TELL THEM IF THEY DIDN'T PICK THEM UP WITHIN THREE DAYS I WOULD THROW THEM AWAY. THEY GOT NASTY BACK AND SAID THEY WOULD JUST CHARGE ME $100 EACH IF I DID. SO THIS IS SEPTEMBER 6TH AND I STILL HAVE THE 2 CONTAINERS SITTING BY MY HOUSE! THEY ARE SO ATTRACTIVE. PLUS, ONE OF THEM HAS A DAMAGED LID THAT ONE OF THE DRIVERS DID LAST WINTER WHEN THEY THREW IT ON THE GROUND AFTER DUMPING IT AND IT CRACKED. HELP! IF I WERE LOOKING FOR A TRASH PICKUP COMPANY, IT CERTAINLY WOULD BE ANYONE OTHER THAT WASTE MANAGEMENT.

MAKING THE ARRANGEMENTS WAS FINE, BUT IT WAS THROUGH ANOTHER COMPANY THAT WAS JUST RECENTLY PURCHASED BY WASTE MANAGEMENT. WHEN IT WAS TIME TO PICK UP THE DUMPSTER, WASTE MANAGEMENT DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON. AFTER BEING ON HOLD FOR A LONG TIME AND BEING DIRECTED TO A FEW DIFFERENT NUMBERS, THE PERSON I FINALLY SPOKE TO TOLD ME SHE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON, MEANING ACCORDING TO THEM, WE DON'T HAVE ONE OF THEIR DUMPSTERS. WE ARE FINISHED WITH IT AND NEED THEM TO COME GET IT, AND SHE DID SAY SHE WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT, BUT AS OF NOW, I HAVEN'T HEARD FROM THEM. I WAS ON HOLD A LONG TIME BEFORE I COULD EVEN TALK TO ANYONE AND IT WAS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE.
