MOLLETT BROTHERS PAINTING

After delays in scheduling, the stripping began. There were more paint layers than expected and it took longer than planned. The Mollett Brothers were patient with it though, and worked hard to get off all the layers. As they turned to the staining, they struggled to find the right stain, and it took days and days to produce a finish to match the existing wood trim. This is tough, especially when the woods involved are different. That said, they were guessing their way along. We ended up trying to help, but ideally you're not put in a position where you're advising the "professionals". Other problems emerged, in sanding the frames, they gouged the wood, and then denied doing so. I had to remind them not to leave open jars of toxic stripper and stain around (we have pets), & they were generally messier than ideal. They did persevere, though, and the windows met with our satisfaction in the end. It was a frustrating job, but they tried their best, which we appreciate.

The painters were very conscientious, showed up on time, and kept me informed of their progress and plans. They were friendly, polite and trustworthy. I felt comfortable allowing them access to my house while I was out of town and would use them again for any exterior or interior painting. They are insured by a private company and are on file with BWC.
