We signed contract on September 18th, material was delivered 3 days later and we noticed the siding looked lighter than we picked. We told the owner/contractor and he said there must be a mistake and the next day picked it up and returned it to Menards. He called a bit later and said the Pecan color we picked was not available in dutchlap siding, the Khaki color that was delivered was only a shade or two lighter and we agreed to it. (I later found out the Pecan is available but was much more expensive, and the Khaki color was on sale) The roofing went well, with in one week the roof was removed and replaced, upon removing the standing seam metal roof they found old wood shake singles and had to replace a bunch of wood. Nothing was ever said about added expense the job was just done. Roofing looked good, ridge vent was installed and the one vent the singles are open to prevailing winds and may be a problem, and the garage they only cut one side of the ridge vent open one inch which should be cut open at least 1-1/2" on each side. Then they started the siding, I grew up in the painting and decorating business so I do know right from wrong, They started siding on our front porch....you are supposed to started at the lowest point of the house. Anyways....the owner has hardly been on the job, he has hired these guys who are trying their best, but they have never done siding before, the work is terrible, they are working on wrapping the trim in aluminum and its even worse! The owner said the guys are really interior guys, they hung the drywall and they didn't do any better, they took a light fixture down and stripped the wires all the way back so it will have to be rewired from the attic, the stairway way they have so many little pieces and seams because I guess hey had no idea how to cut angles. Its another mess. Whenever I ask how much longer to finish, they only have 2 more days. We have seen a lawyer, I have given this person every chance I can. He has walked off the job twice, he has sent employees nasty text messages about me, we are trying to find someone to finish the job correctly. I believe a lot of the siding needs to be replaced and all the aluminum trim work needs to come off. All this has made me sick! I have talked to the city engineer, my wife talked to the city law director. This person should not even have a contractors license, It is now in the 8th week, snow is on the ground, we have company coming for Thanksgiving and the upstairs is a mess because of the drywall. We continue to try o find someone else to finish this, but no one wants to get involved in finishing someones work, and there will be a law suit over breach of contract, poor workman ship and contract fraud. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!!
