They showed up when they said and completed all of the work in a professional manner, taking care to not make a mess in my home.

They did a good job. They offered me the furnace I wanted and are available 24/7.

What a horrible experience.  Our hot water heater went out after a horrible storm caused flooding in our basement.  We contacted Stark's, since they originally installed the hot water heater.  We were told that it would be $60 to come out and then the cost of the part.  They showed up the first day and said they did not have the right part and handed me a bill for $120, after being here for less than an hour.  The 2nd day, before they came back, we called to see how much more the bill would be.  We were told that the only additional cost would be the cost of the part.  Upon arrival the service man informed us the part was warrantied and would cost $0.  After he installed the part, he then handed us a bill for $187.  I agrued the bill, since we were told by the company the only additional cost would be that of the part, and since it was free, our bill should not have exceeded the $120.  I then called the company and complained about the difference in charges.  They said they would review the bill and call us back.  I finally had to call them back and was told that if I would have spoke to the owner, he would have informed me it would have been way more expensive than the $120.  I argued that, even as a female, I am well aware of the cost of a new thermal couple, and since ours was warrantied, we should have been charged nothing.  I also informed Joe Starks, that a new hot water heater costs around $400 and to pay 1/2 that price to get a new thermal couple (a $15-20 part) put on was INSANE, especially when we were told one price and charged another.  He stated he didn't see what the problem was since they fixed our hot water heater.  I then assured him I would never do business with his company again, nor would any one I knew.   Words of wisdom to anyone out there looking to get any plumbing and heating work done, do your research, or else you are going to get hosed just like us.  They will promise you one thing and charge you double that without any qualms.
