I had been a TruGreen customer for a few years after they bought the company I previously used for my lawn service. In that time frame, the quality of both lawn care and customer service diminished considerably. Early this summer, I contacted customer service to see if they could send someone to my property to better tailor my service and address the issues I was seeing. After some back and forth, some no-shows to their scheduled appointments, I finally had enough and switched to a different provider. Just today, two and a half months after my outreach to customer service, a technician FINALLY contacted me to see if my issue had been resolved. I politely explained that I had decided to use someone else for my lawn care. He asked why; I explained that I wasn't happy with the results of the service and that I was unimpressed with customer service. As soon as I said the words "customer service," he HUNG UP ON ME. That brings me here, because even though I am no longer a TruGreen customer, I feel compelled to share my terrible experience to dissuade those thinking of using TruGreen to go elsewhere.

They have been servicing our lawn for two seasons since they bought Scott’s who did a great job on our lawn. After two seasons our lawn looks worse than when we moved in 6 years ago when the lawn was in desperate need of care. They offered to come look at it when I complained and I told them they have been looking at it for two years and it still doesn’t look good. We have cancelled service.

The work was done all summer. It was $100 per application. The price was reasonable. The quality is a D. That’s why they’re not here anymore. Punctuality was good. Watch them when they come because they don’t do what they say they’re going to do. They were supposed to spray my whole yard. They sprayed half of it and left 3 times, so I finally caught them. They gave me one free application, but then I discontinued them. I would not use this provider again.

We used their service. I would rate them very poor on almost every account. It was the entire summer care. What was wrong with the service was the high pressure, and it didn’t work. It was the worst our lawn had looked in years. Even the punctuality was poor because I had called to complain and they wouldn’t get back. They really come across as shysters. My son also used them at his place and had the same experiences. It’s not just one. Sometimes there is always one bad issue, but 2 out of 2 is bad. I'd be embarrassed to be associated with them.

It went great. I have used the service for about 4 years. I liked everything, the results were good. Their price is excellent. The quality is very good. Their responsiveness is very good. Their professionalism is good. The price is reasonable compared to competitors, it's below competitors.

They always perform services as described. A couple of times, there had been problems, they've been very quick to come out at their own cost and address them.

Overall, the lawn seemed to perk up but nothing drastic. We did get a lot of mushroom and other weeds that we never had gotten before we used this service. I am not sure if this is related to the service or not, but it was odd that this happened.

They are a little pushy with their services, which kind of p*sses me off. They have a set size for a minimum and my front yard is well below the minimum amount of coverage so they do a minimum of 500 square feet. They charge a specific amount and anywhere under that 500 square feet, they still charge for 400-500 square feet regardless. When I was having my backyard done too which is significantly bigger than my front yard, I was paying $10 more than what I was paying just to have my front yard done, but because we have dogs, I didn't want them putting things anymore in the backyard. They are always here every month. I don't have to call him and remind him. They call me and remind me.

After Tru Green bought out Scott's, they became beyond pricey. Then they started calling me every 2 weeks tying to up sale me. I don't like Tru Green. They did come out promptly.

It's $50 a visit. They just come in and tweak the lawn so there are no appointments. They are always trying to push some products on me that I don't necessarily need. I would tell a friend they do a good job but that they should shop around. I have a contact with them.

terrible....They estimated our yard at 8,000 sq ft to give us a discounted price....When they came out less than half of our yard was done. They have about 8 different 1-800 numbers and it is impossible to speak to a local manager. We never had so many weeds. Our yard was never green the whole time we used their service. They never showed up on time (supposedly every 6 weeks an application was due) . Our service got so backed up that two were almost due at the same time. Our yard is over 1/2 of an acre. Our yard was in terrible shape. After the second application I finally looked at the bill and figured out it was very under estimated. Multiple, multiple calls later I was told that they do the entire yard it is just estimated that way to give the discount. Unbeknownst to the technician I was home and watched him do the next application. He only did a small portion of our yard. I finally got a supervisor to come out to our yard so I could show him our property line and where they actually did the job. There was no resolution to this problem so I cancelled them. They supposedly will redo the application if you are not satisfied. They never showed up to correct it. After I cancelled I have be bugged to death with calls, emails and ads. This spring a manager called me to try to get me to come back to them. I told him all the problems from the estimate, to the poor customer service, to the tons of 1-800 numbers, to the poor follow up, to the not showing up for the repeat application.....I told him no discount in the world would have me use this company again. If you use this company make sure they ACTUALLY measure your property instead of doing an estimate (or guess) just to give you a discount. They should actually measure your property. I learned a valuable lesson. Make sure you actually get one contact number and a name so when there is a problem or you need a reapplication you can actually speak to a person in your area and have a contact name.

I was a regular customer for years. After they combined with TruGreen my lawn was not serviced for nearly three months. I was told they would prioritize my yard but they did not come for another week, so I called again to inquire. They didn't seem to care that I had missed several services so I cancelled my account. I will look elsewhere for these services.
