After the job was complete I sent the following letter too Sal. Dear Sal, Thank you for the beautiful job you did in our yard. 1. You showed up when you said you would & finished the job as agreed. 2. Your crew worked fast and did a very professional job. 3. Your crew was friendly, explained their work, and asked our opinion on anything that was questionable. As a retired small business owner, we know employees are your most valuable asset and you have professionals! We will call you next spring when we're ready to do our next project. Again, thank you, it was a pleasure working with your crew - you did an excellent job on the planning and we feel we got more than we expected! To your continued success... Peggy & Mike Easton

We asked them if they would match our Kentucky Blue Grass when they did work and they said yes. Well they ended up planting Cheap Crab Grass. I just never even thought they would not match the nice, healthy and better quality grass we already had! With giving them this much $ you wouldn't think they would need to skimp and plant cheap grab grass when grass seeds are not that expensive! It has taken my husband and I hours to try and pull the unmatched grass out of the yard. The rest of the 10 grand was for taking down some trees, bushes and replanting some easy to take care of plants. This all turned out fine. They also made a little stone wall in the front which looks nice and natural. They also placed a stonewall on the side of the house which looks good with some plants. The other hiccup we had, was in the contract, we wanted the mulch 1 inch maximum above the concrete line. They did not do this and it was several inches above the concrete line and my husband was afraid the mulch would wash away with rain ect. We had the manager come back. He kept telling us that the mulch was fine. But, it was not fine with us and they begrudgingly dug a little more, and we finally excepted, even though it wasn't what we had agreed to in the contract.

Horrible experience. Tried for several weeks to arrange to have a patio installed. After several no call backs and a no show, we will be looking else where Sounds like they do quality work if they ever have the common decency to show up Nothing good to say about this company

Sal dropped by and met with the Mrs and I on the set date and time. We had a nice discussion about what we wanted to do and he had some good ideas as well. Sal told us he would get back to us in a week or two with a rough idea of what the project would cost. Well WE ARE STILL WAITING! I called and emailed him and received NO response?! Business must be good to ignore potential clients that have a huge back yard project?! Completely unprofessional. Stay away from this person/business.

Once they were here which is tough because he is so sought after. My Yard was quick to be transformed. When you hire any landscaper you must be patient as this is tough work. My yard stands out from everyone's. You know which one Sal did when you roll down the street. Thanks Sal!

Sal would never be on time for his appointments and would never call to say that he is running late. When he did turn up, instead of apologizing, he would just start telling me that he is as busy as a brain surgeon and implying that he is doing me a favor by keeping his appointment.
During the day of the job he asked me for more money than the original quote and said ?you have to pay more if you want a good job done?. When I tried to discuss the issue, he got angry and started talking rudely. I then just told him to get the work done and I will pay more money as I didn't want a lousy job.

"This client authorized paperwork with our firm winter of 2014, and he was told the work would begin Spring of 2015. After 3 months authorizing paperwork he tried to renegotiate the price trying to get more for less money, [Member name removed] was told this is what we negotiated and that would be what we delivered, we finished project and he was left happy."

I first called a couple weeks ago, gave a brief description of the project and left my contact information with the woman who answered the phone. Since I never heard back I called a week later and Sal answered. I first explained that I called the week before and never heard back from them and he acted surprised. I gave him a description of the project and then he said he was given the information and that he would come out later that day and leave an estimate in the door. After a few days with no estimate, I called the office again and the woman answered. I explained what happened and she said Sal would be in later that day and that he would call me back. Still haven't heard back from them a week after the last call.
I understand that spring is a busy time for landscapers, and that my job might have been too small for them to bother with right now. (It is a 20' x 4' area that needs landscaped.) However, a true professional would at least explain that and not lead me to believe that I was getting an estimate. Now I am 2-3 weeks behind on my project because I kept giving Sal's the benefit of the doubt because I had heard they were good. Really disappointing.

Sal showed up an hour and half late to the scheduled appointment. He said I would receive the quote within 1-2 days. That was one month ago and I still haven't received the quote. When I called to ask when I could expect it, I was told someone would return my call. To date, no one from Sal's Landscaping has returned my call.

Sal came out to give me an estimate and he right away had a vision based on what I said I wanted. He looked me in the eye, quoted me and shook my hand saying he would get the job done. His guys were back out within a week and had the job knocked out in 2 days. It was exactly what my wife and I wanted and we receive compliments on the work anytime we have guests over. His price was fair as I had checked with a couple other companies to ballpark what I should be spending.
I called him back to do more work this summer and my experience has been the same. He has even helped me deal with getting things approved through my HOA as they had questions about the work being done.
I would recommend him to friends and family anytime.

"Sal had 2-appts. with this customer, and she was NOT at either appt., Sal spoke to her room mate who did not know much on what need to be done. Karen's response is not valid due to the fact that she didn't even meet with Sal, Because she always never even met with Sal, so at that point Sal reccommended to her that she needs to contact someone else, so she got upset that Sal told her this, so in return she posted this un-valid post about Sal's Landscaping co."

So this makes two times I have rushed home early from work to be here for an appointment with Sal's Landscaping and they have stood me up. If they can't make an appointment, I surely wouldn't trust them to make good on job. Appears to be extremely undependable!!!

Sal is a good salesman, he had a great pitch that included photos of completed projects. Time was important to us and he assured us that he could start right away. We were impressed with the examples of his work and thought the price was good, so we hired his company. Getting them to actually perform the work was the biggest problem. The work was finished about a month after we were told. They didn't show up the first 4 or 5 times they were scheduled to do it. We never even got a call to let us know they weren't coming or to reschedule, the scheduled dates would just come and go. I would call Sal after each failed appearance and he would provide excuses or simply claim not to have set the date. Once the work was finally done, it was of a reasonable quality. There were, however, several clean up items that I had to do myself. Overall, the hassle we went through wasn't worth it.

"This customer had 1-corner brick move on their Patio, due to wash out coming off the back hill, Sal went out there and placed more screening beneath the 1-brick, and advised customer what caused the problem."

I was irate at the type of work done. The price seemed reasonable. They didn't show up when they said they'd come. Happened about 5 times. Work was finally done a month after when they said it'd be done. Most of the work they did ended up dying, grass and plants. So when they came back a year later, they did not replace all of the dead plants nor re-seed. So I assumed I'd never get it right and gave up. He called on 08/10/07 and was very mean and almost threatening to her.
