We have had several major appliances die soon after purchasing our first home.  United Home Comfort has had the opportunity to replace two of them for us, our air conditioner and water heater.  They were always very professional, punctual, and friendly.  Our Furnace has been on the fritz since moving in.  However, since we own two fireplaces we opted not to fix the furnace at this time.  United Home Comfort found out about it and decided to give us a Christmas gift and fix the furnace for free.  I can't tell you how flattered, speechless, grateful, and overwhelmed we were by their gift.   

We had previously used someone else to take a look at our furnace when we first moved in.  Over the span of a year, with several different appointments, the other company was not able to discern the problem.  We are so glad we switched to United Home Comfort, because in the very first visit, their expertise far outranked the other company we had used. They assessed the problem, ordered the appropriate part, and fixed it.

When our furnace does truly kick the bucket, we know exactly who we'll be calling to replace it.

Everyone should drop who they are currently using for their plumbing and heating and go with United Home Comfort.  Customer service AND experts in their field = PRICELESS.

On Sunday June 22 I purchased the Angie's List "Big Deal" with United Home Comfort. It included an inspection, tune up, and 1 lb refrigerant. After purchasing it, Angie's List sent a message to them on my behalf and, as promised, they replied on Tuesday the 24th. Scheduling was a breeze, and I got a next day appointment for the time-slot of 10am-12pm.
 The technician called me at 10 am and informed me he would be at my house in 15 minutes. He arrived on time, listened to my concerns about the system, diagnosed it, and then gave me the details. Basically everything happened as promised. When I am able to afford the repairs that are needed I'm sure I'll call them back to have them perform the work.

It was an outstanding service as far as the serviceman that was here. I think his service was above the norm in his demeanor and willingness to solve my problem. The first visit did not go as well as we thought it should. They took way too long to install and charged too much . We paid the bill and were not asked if we were happy or if everything was ok . The next day the owner of the company called  and asked why he was given a poor review on Angie's list . He wanted to come out and see if he could make things right.  He showed up, apologized, and made arrangements for him to finish the job.  They came out and finished the job with no problem.  Everything was on time and cost was as expected.  The owner is very honest and up front, he is trying to make it right for his customers. We appreciated him coming out and making everything right.  I would  recommend this company and will be using them in the future.

We had no heat the one day before the predicted -40 degree polar freeze of January 6.  Our most reliable repair people did not have the part needed until after the big freeze day, so we called UHC and they said they had a trustworthy used blower unit with module for our Water Furnace.  Their person came out in heavy snow on a Sunday with the used unit at emergency rates.  They found they did not have what they needed and had to return to the shop on our nickel to get the needed parts to install.  We were happy to have heat 24 hours before the big freeze and paid the bill for the used unit, $668.60.  Eleven days later, we again had no heat and called UHC as it was their unit that was acting up.  They came out on Jan 15, with a new unit (which they said they did not have previously) and replaced the blower motor and module AGAIN.   To their only credit, they only charged us on the return call what they said the additional cost of the new unit over the used one would be.  On the following day, we had no heat. The same problem was registering on our furnace pointing to the blower motor. This time, since we had the new blower motor and module, we called our preferred service people from Tin Man. They came out and found that the blower motor had been incorrectly wired and they fixed the error.  We will not be calling UHC again. The two service people who came out from UHC seemed nice and friendly but clueless.  They really did not seem to have the knowledge to reliably fix the problem. (See Tin Man review)

As a rule, we make sure our technicians have everything they need before heading out to a home, by diversifying our parts stock and collecting information prior to the job. We do this to avoid inefficient situations like you experienced, especially in Level 3 Snow Emergency weather. Unfortunately, it is sometimes unavoidable when working with misinformation collected prior to the job, and we’re sorry you experienced this. However, we understand the frustration when your furnace quits working, shortly after we installed the motor. Our policy is if we are called back and find the problem is due to a deficit in our workmanship, we fix it at no charge to the home owner. While it is possible that the same problem was registering on your control board, it is not possible that it was due to incorrect wiring of the blower motor. The furnace would not have worked at all if we wired it incorrectly. Since we were not called back, it is hard to tell what went wrong. We have tried to contact you multiple times to fully understand what happened to improve your experience with us, but you have not returned our calls. Again, we truly appreciate any and all feedback, and as always we will use the input to better our heating services. Sincerely, United Home Comfort Inc."
