Ray Toelke was extremely responsive and thorough with his oversight of the project. Crew members were courteous, respectful of property (which is not always the case with rehab properties) and willing to put in additional labor where needed.

It is pretty obvious to me that the owner, Ray, doesn't like me because I'm black. He would pull me aside and make horrible remarks to me. We paid $6,000 out of pocket to redo the bathrooms upstairs. We wanted him to make one bathroom out of two existing ones. He installed two toilets right next to each other. He took all of the shelves out of my laundry room. He stuck extra insulation in the crawl space. There is paint all over the floor in the laundry room. The water softener is sitting out in the middle of a room. Most of the doors in the house will not stay open, rather they close by themselves. Every drape and rod in the house is now missing. Some of the work was good, like the painting, but I would not recommend him. He is now suing me to make me pay for the repairs to these problems.

RAY TOELKE WAS GIVEN OUR PERMISSION TO BEGIN WORK ON OUR HOME THREE DAYS AFTER THE FIRE. HE TOLD US THIS PROJECT FIT INTO HIS COMPANY'S SCHEDULE AND THEY COULD BEGIN IN ONE WEEK. HE DID NOT APPLY FOR A BUILDING PERMIT UNTIL ONE MONTH AFTER THE FIRE. THEY NEVER WORKED MORE THAN A FEW DAYS AND NOT EVER A FULL DAY. IT IS OBVIOUS THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT THEY WERE DOING OR WHAT ORDER TO DO IT IN. WE WERE DECEIVED AND TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF IN OUR WORSE TIME OF DISTRESS. THEY NEVER SEARCHED FOR ALL THE SMOKE DAMAGE. THEY DID NOT GIVE UPDATES TO US OR THE INSURANCE COMPANY. RAY DID NOT STAY INVOLVED IN THE JOB AFTER GETTING OUR COMMITMENT. IT TOOK REPEATED PHONE CALLS PLEADING FOR HIM GET OUR HOUSE REPAIRED. HIS EXCUSES WERE ENDLESS. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO COMPLETE ANY FIRE RESTORATION PROJECT. HE PUT US FOUR MONTHS BEHIND CAUSING GREAT STRESS IN OUR ALREADY TRAUMATIZED FAMILY.
