David Bauer Custom Homes Inc

We built our dream home but David Bauer Custom Homes was our nightmare. David Bauer Custom Homes (DBCH) does not know how to build custom homes, only standard homes!  Dave Bauer is a liar and thief.  DBCH owe us over $10,000.  Dave Bauer, Sr and David Bauer, Jr. are two contractors you don’t want to hire.  They talk a great story but do NOT do want they say or what’s on the drawings and/or in the specs.  We had to do all the inspections ourselves and force the DBCH to redo the work correctly.  In some cases, the subs had to correct the mistakes up to 5 time. The subcontractors Dave hired were incompetent.  Dave was not on the job site long enough to inspect the project or discuss the work with the subcontractors.  We fired David Bauer Custom Homes and completed the project ourselves. DBCH does not know how to manage  budget, schedule and complete a project.  DO NOT HIRE!

We built an addition to our home and had a set budget.  Dave Bauer assured us he would meet the budget.  WRONG.  He went over by 40%.  
The workmanship was terrible.  He drew no blueprints for the addition, so the contractors did the best they could without specs, but many things were done poorly.  The electricians he hired were terrible.  The plumbers didn't show up.  The HVAC guys were incompetent.  
The framers went to the bathroom in our yard, throwing napkins in the yard.  I have told everyone I know to avoid this contractor.  
Dave Bauer was only concerned about the house passing inspection and not about quality.  He wasn't here to oversee the workers.  His design ideas were not good.  He designed our dining room and even though he knew the size of our dining room table, he built it too small.  His suggestion was "just turn the table the other way".
We fired him when he continued to go over budget.  The contractors we hired were much more competent than the clowns Dave Bauer hired.
I am so sorry we ever hired this guy.  You know all of those horror stories you hear about contractors?  He fits them all to a "t".
We paid for a Cadillac and got a Kia.
