He would start jobs and not finish them. I had to hire another contractor to finish the job.
He took advantage of me and I would not recommend him to anyone.

Nothing has been finished. It is now November and I was supposed to be in my home on September 1st, it was then pushed back to October 1st, and now we have no finish date. The man keeps telling me he needs more money. He starts one job, never finishes and then starts another and that never gets finished. He took all his tools out of my home. He said when the storms came through he had to stop work at my home and start working on his own home. I took out a home equity loan. Each time he said he needed the draw for the work, he was supposed to give me a memo that showed what he had completed. He wanted the second amount of $17,000 he gave me a print out of what he was supposed to do, and a print out of what he said he had done. The print out that said what was completed included the paneling in the dining room, which isn't even here yet. He is giving me paperwork that says work is completed, when none of it is. I have given him $106,000 to date, and only have unfinished work to show for it. He has exceeded his estimate over $10,000. He said the town said he couldn't put the roof on the way he wanted and charged me an additional $17,000.

"I have faxed a copy of the letter I had sent to the member on Dec. 20, 2008. This letter explains the issues of why I haven't returned to finish the job. There were change orders - electrical, enlarging the bathroom door and other items that the member approved and told me to do that I have not been paid for. Also, there was a break in at her residence. Some of my tools and equipment were stolen. In my contract, it states the homeowner is responsible for carrying the insurance. She has never turned it in to my knowledge. So as I stated in the letter, as soon as the member takes care of these two issues, I would return to finish her project. - Ted Stygler, President"

THIS WAS AN INSURANCE JOB. LOW BALLED THE PRICE TO GET THE JOB AND THEN DEMANDED MORE MONEY LATER. MADE LARGE SCRATCH ON NEW KITCHEN FLOOR AND DIDN'T INFORM US, LEFT HEAT REGISTER UNSCREWED, AND GENERALLY LEFT A BAD TASTE IN OUR MOUTHS IN TERMS OF COMPLETENESS AND DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM. THEIR KNOWLEDGE ABOUT CONSTRUCTION AND REMODELING IS SUPERIOR. I JUST WISH THEY WOULD HAVE APPLIED IT TO THE FINISHING DETAILS. THEY ARE CAPABLE OF MUCH BETTER.
