Steve came out to describe his process from design to installation of railings. Came up with various designs -- all good it was difficult to select. He then met us at the Franklin Glass to select the glass to be integrated into the wrought iron. Railings installed and one of the glass inserts did not seem quite right. He personally came out to inspect the concern and took care of the issue immediately. We really love the originality of his design and enjoyed working with Steve!

Contacted Steve who promptly got us on his schedule to come out and view the area of the house. After spending an hour with us in order to better understand what we wanted, he told us he would get bck with us within 1-2 weeks with a few drawings. Within a week, he visited us again, showing us 5 variations for us to consider. His creativity and work was exactly what we were looking for! We visited his worksite before he was to send the railings to the powder coater to make sure we were happy with the pieces. Then he returned to install and it fit perfectly! We have more work in the future and would not hesitate to call Steve once again!

Everything went smoothly. Steven worked up artist renderings that would match the rest of the home architecture and then worked with me to make the most out of my budget. The final staircase looks beautiful and no longer like a fire escape! I highly recommend Steven and Smartworks!

I love the rails! They are cemented in and are not going to fall apart. He did a beautiful job! He is a very nice man and we are vey happy with his services. I had sent in a report through the mail on this service and just not realized it was not submitted. This is why I am submitting the report with such a delay.

Steve transformed our outdated family room into a wonderful, more modern room. His artistry added an entirely new level to the stair and railing. He and my wife were able to effectively communicate and provide an incredible piece of functional art. Will be happy to provide more feed back if requested.

I called Steve and left a message, he promptly called me back and we discussed my problem. He told me I could drop off the item or he could pick it up next week when he would be nearby. He picked it up and then dropped it off the next time he was in the Short North. The repair looks beautiful and the cost was very close to the estimate (that he gave over the phone without even seeing the damage). It was a wonderful experience and I love having my sculpture fixed.

He is good at iron work which he does. He is not good at telling you what he is not good at like aluminum work. Eventually, we had to get the columns redone. We paid Smartworks a downpayment for the mirror work project which we decided not to go forward with. We did not ask for did not ask for repayment nor did we receive any. He was a nice guy. He was good at wrought iron and he should have told me that he wasn't familiar with rolled aluminum work. The seam imperfections were intolerable and I couldn't seem to convey that we needed a better standard of work. Mac Worthington, the renowned Columbus artist ended up completing the job.

"I have considered whether or not to respond to this report and have decided that if I didn't, than the rest of my customers might be puzzled . One thing we can agree on is member and I got along very well. She is a pleasure to be around and very hospitable. Where we disagree is she was 4 years late in her response to doing business together! Every time we left her house, each time supervised by her, she indicated the aluminum work was fine. Then 2-3 weeks later, she would call and say she had torn off the metal work herself and wanted it redone. We did this 3 times, replacing all materials, and again leaving on what we thought was good terms. We used all the revenue from the job in reworking and after months she decided to go with someone else whom is not on Angies list. Smartworks has and always will make sure everyone is happy hence the straight A's for the past years . We are committed to quality and straight up honest business. Remember it took 4 YEARS to write something bad about my company. I feel like the awards we have earned with Angie's list speak more conclusively than one complaint."

I don't know why anyone would want anyone else to do iron work for them. You can have function and beauty for a very reasonable price. Steve was great to work with and is a metal art genious !!

My husband and I met Steven Bush (Artist, Designer and Owner) smARTworks at the Columbus Home and Garden Show. We were attracted by his creative and wonderful display. Steven originally came to our home to discuss a Bench for our front porch but with his suggestion we decided to add Handrails. He returned about a week later with several different designs that complemented our home decor. Our beautiful finished pieces arrived about two months after we placed our order. We had originally looked at handrails when our home was being built but had decided against the idea because the "old picket fence look" was boring (our designed handrails turned out to be less expensive). Steven is a pleasure to work with and he has a wonderful personality. He was able to capture our style and create two wonderful pieces. We will definetly use smARTworks for future products.

Steve got back to us within a week with several sketches of his ideas. Once we decided on one he took the measurements and built it. He assisted me in the installation and when the granite compay came out to install the top it fit perfectly. Could not have asked for a better fit. Steve did a great job. He is fun to work with and is full of great ideas. We we definitely be crossing paths again on some future job. I would highly recommend him.

It was great. Mr. Bush came to our house to look at the fences that we wanted the gates for and to take measurements. He provided us with detailed drawings and a price estimate. He explained about the materials, coatings and other information so we would know exactly what to expect. The finished product was above all expectations. The gates as well as the small table are true works of art. We?ve had numerous comments from our neighbors on how great the gates look.

Working with Steve is a fun and gratifying process. In the case of the fountain, I had asked him to design an outdoor sculpture to hang on the side of the house, by the patio. He returned with several drawings and had the bright idea of turning the piece into a water feature. I loved the idea and loved one of the designs in particular so he went off and made it. It turned out great. The aspects that make it a water feature are integrated into the design subtly so that it is a piece of art with or without the water running. And I love that it is unique. In the case of our coffee table, we worked even more closely together, sharing ideas and meeting several times before finalizing the design. Yet again we ended-up with a fantastic and unique piece. It is a functional piece of furniture, but it also makes an artistic statement. We are thrilled with each of our Steve Bush pieces, not only because of the end product, but also because he is a fantastic person and is fun to work with. He is full of integrity, and enthusiastic about his work. He is also very reliable and professional.

Steve did an initial interview to determine my taste and needs and returned with several gorgeous designs for me to choose from. He was very easy to work with, attentive to my ideas and made great suggestions to improve the project. We arrived at the perfect design and Steve completed the fabrication and installation within a couple of weeks. I am delighted with my artwork and with the process! I highly recommend Smartworks!

Great experience from start to finish. Steve and I talked at length about the design. He offered a number of design options. We worked together to select the glass at Franklin Art Glass in German Village. The gate is beautiful, a great work of art, and something we will certainly take with us if we ever move.
