The work is still going on but so far, it's been an amazing experience. KMM Builders under promises and over delivers. They even had a week of already planned vacation scheduled during our renovation and the work didn't stop. People were still at our home daily moving the ball forward. I definitely recommend KMM Builders to anyone looking to update their homes with modern conveniences and style galore.

This repair was somewhat like the movie the Money Pit. Everything that KMM took apart led to more knowledge of rot and damage, and to more repairs. They were up front and honest about everything. It ended up costing way more money than initially quoted because of the extent of damage. They went so far as to replacing a subfloor beneath a hardwood floor in the sunroom from our crawl space so as not to have to tear up the hardwood. It was a good experience overall.

We met with Rick, KMM owner, at our home and told him how we were interested in finishing our basement. Rick came highly recommended by a family member. We had contacted another company a couple years back and received what we thought was a very high estimate and so we had put off ever finishing the basement. Rick was very nice, professional, and very experienced in home and commercial projects. Before even starting, he gave us a ball-park figure of what it would cost to finish a basement this size ... it was very reasonable, and more the price we were looking for. After meeting and discussing the details of what we wanted, Rick drew up plans and a sketch, and within a couple of weeks provided an estimate, including a proposed draw schedule. We decided to have KMM Builders do the project. We thought the price was in line with what we wanted to pay, and probably most importantly, we trusted that Rick knew what he was doing and would have the job done professionally. We were given a 8-10 week time frame as to when the job would be completed, and, with the inspections and final touches, it took just about 10 weeks. From framing, to drywall, mudding, ceiling, electrical, HVAC, painting and staining, installation of cabinets, toilet and shower, and carpeting -- the process was very methodical and done well. Rick and Justin from KMM Builders were great to work with. They had all tasks scheduled and kept us updated on when and what the workers would be doing daily. KMM does use subcontractors and Rick was upfront about this. Rick is an experienced homebuilder and he explained that he only uses subs that he trusts and has worked with through the years. We did find that all of the workers who came to our house were courteous and did good work. Rick had us go to Design Depot to pick out the wall colors, carpet, tile, linoleum, and cabinets. My husband picked out faucets, lighting, and the shower door at Menards. The process was very easy. The finished product is fantastic! KMM Builders did a very professional job, and we are very happy with the project. Although we did not find KMM Builders through Angies List, we wholeheartedly recommend them to the members.

Price was reasonable, very flexible on work schedule!
