CEDAR CRAFT PRODUCTS INC

Upon inspection of the mailbox and post following its installation, my wife and I quickly noticed the mailbox was a different color than the post. I then called Cedar Craft and spoke with its owner (Maggie) to alert her to the issue. Following a couple calls with Maggie, once she reviewed a photo of the mailbox and post she assured me the unit would be replaced. One month later, I called Maggie to check on the status of the replacement mailbox. Maggie, who clearly had forgotten about the two previous discussions, told me there was no way for her to give me a date on when she would receive a shipment of cedar wood mailboxes with matching posts. I then sent Maggie a letter detailing our previous discussions, along with pictures of other cedar mailboxes and posts in my neighborhood that all matched in color. In the letter, I asked for Maggie to provide me with a week of date for which my mailbox and post would be replaced. I also gave Maggie the option of refunding me the amount of my purchase so that I could purchase a mailbox and post from another company. I asked for Maggie to acknowledge receipt of the letter and pictures. I also sent a text to Maggie's personal cell phone, she had given me to send a picture of the mailbox and post during an earlier call, to inform her of the email. In the text, I asked that she let me know that the email was received. Maggie failed to respond to both the text and the email. There has been no communication from Maggie or anyone else from Cedar Craft Products, Inc. at this point. This is extremely poor customer service from the very top of this family-owned business. My wife and I, in good faith, paid Cedar Craft Products, Inc. $319.44 for a product that didn't satisfy us as customers and the customer service provided by the owner after the installation has been less than professional. Please see the attached photos. The mailbox and post with 8156 were installed by Cedar Craft Products, Inc. The 8161 unit is an example of how all the other mailboxes and posts in my neighborhood look. I provided Maggie with several additional photos of mailboxes and posts (which matched in color) in my neighborhood for reference as well.

Experience went well and price was better than competitors. My only complaint is that they don't haul away the old mailbox, which was a pain to dispose of.

I called company I set date for them to come out and they installed the mailbox they built. Looks good would have them install again if I needed another one.

While initially hesitant to spend over $200, when we looked at alternate mailboxes and posts, we weren't happy with what our options were. Plus, we'd have had to buy a post-hole digger, deal with concrete, etc.
Ultimately decided to just go with what our neighbors already had.
Post and box look attractive, match what we had previously, and the crew didn't leave a mess. Pleased with the result.

I contacted Cedar Craft through Angies List. Ultimately I had to call them a few days later, but they had my info and were able to confirm the model of the mailbox post based upon the prior owner's purchase 12 years ago. I asked them to install as unfortunately, I don't have the time. They found a time that worked same week and came out and installed. They arranged for lines to be marked in advance of digging. We were not home at the time and the old post was left near the new install.

Everything went great with Cedar Craft Products, Inc. I had some vandalism done. They tore my mailbox up and knocked the post over. Cedar Craft did a great job. I have no complaints whatsoever with them. They were very friendly. I went to their office and picked out the pole that I wanted. They are very accommodating, as far as showing the different varieties that they have. I wanted it stained the same color as the house and I went and purchased the stain and they stained it. They gave me the remainder of the stain back, for our future use. I would definitely use them again, for other projects.

I called Cedar Craft, explained what I needed and they came out promptly to see what was needed. They recommended replacing the two separate mailbox posts with one, and putting the two boxes on it. All of this was done while I was at work so I never came into contact with anyone, but I'm just going to assume everything went well. The finished product looks VERY sturdy, the mailboxes were stained the correct color, and best of all, the neighbor's mother paid for them!

I contacted Cedar Craft via email and had a return phone call the next day. I had already looked up the style that I wanted on their website and included that information in my email. Since I also told them I wanted it stained to match my house, they actually looked up a photo of my home on the auditor's website and told me what color I needed. It was the exact color we had used to do our house! I was quite impressed! I paid via credit card over the phone and we scheduled the replacement. They came out first thing in the morning and did exactly what I wanted! They were quick, quiet and very neat! This was one of the best experiences that I have ever had with a home improvement project!

They replaced both my mailbox post and mailbox. They even removed and The quality of the products was good and was done when they said it would be. But when they put in the new post, it was only set in gravel. So a week after it was replaced, a contractor's truck backed into the mailbox post. Luckily the post and mailbox were not damaged, but because it was set in gravel and the ground was a little soft, it caused the whole post to lean at an angle even though the truck didn't hit it very fast or hard. Thankfully the contractor reset it for me and set it in concrete. Granted I didn't ask about the gravel vs concrete when I placed the order and they never asked me about, but next time I have a mailbox post replaced, I'll know to ask.

I like the quality of their work, their design, their price and their professionalism. I have recommended them to other people.

Overall the experience was positive. Very professional in providing the estimate. Price was competitive. We ended up going with another contractor based on building style, but have used Cedar Craft in the past.

My wife and I are very pleased with the new fence and three gates constructed by the company's staff on our properties. The fence is beautiful and was professionally installed. We are satisfied with the fence and gates, and so is the owner of the adjacent properties. Rick came promptly for the consultation and measurements, and sent designs and quotes- for what we initially had in mind and for a much better looking, cheaper designed that was chosen. Pat, Ryan and Jason did a superb job on the installation. They were very careful in their plans for how each post, upper rail, lower rail, vertical panel, and all other parts would be cuts and installed. Pat consulted with me before hand on the hardware, and later with me on some of the difficult and challenges parts of the job caused by the fall off of the land, prior poured concrete, etc. The team followed through on their plans. They also made a few changes or additions to the fence and one gate as requested. They kept our properties secure during the construction project. It was a delight to watch how efficiently the guys worked and a pleasure to talk and interact with them. I admired their application of experience, knowledge and talents. I enjoyed overhearing some of their banter and chatter about how best to do the work--even in the cold weather and snow.

Very pleasant on the phone and willing to explain my options. They provided proof of liability insurance and workers comp and were willing to put in writing (via email) that they do not use sub-contractors. The unit was installed when promised. I didn't give a letter grade for quality, but I can say that the mailbox unit we replaced came from this same company and lasted 18 years---we hope to get that many years out of this one. I think I'd have prefered that the black mailbox letters be attached to the mailbox with screws with a black surface so that the numbers are removable when the mailbox is stained from time to time and so that they don't stand out against the numbers as the grey metal nails do; I'll try touching them up with a bit of paint as the company suggested (I appreciate that I may be one of the few people in the world who would even notice this detail---didn't bother my spouse at all :) ). Overall a good experience with this company...

Cedar Craft built our fairly large deck in 1999. We have been very pleased with how well it has held up. A few boards had shown some evidence of rotting. These were mainly below areas with hanging plants that get moisture daily. Price quoted before job started was the final price. Work was done in a very professional manner.

Pat was very puntucal in coming to look at the area where we wanted to add the fence and arbor. He was helpful in answering questions and giving suggestions. He spent a lot of time helping to locate our property lines to make sure we didn't build on the neighbor's property. A quote was available the next day. We asked for some revsions and received a revised quote in a timely fashion. Although the quote was good (approx. $2500) we decided that we didn't want the maintenance issue of wood and decided to go with vinyl plastic for the fence and aluminum for the arbor.

Jason came out to the my home and took some measurements. He showed me photographs of prior jobs that Cedar Craft had completed. We discussed several options and Jason said he would have some preliminary sketches and a proposals ready by the end of the week. The end of the week came and went without any proposal. I contacted Jason and asked him why I hadn't heard from him on our project. He stuttered around and never really gave me an explanation other than he forgot. I told him I was still interested in having his company build the pergola and he assured me that he would come up with a plan and a proposal. Well it has been two months since our first appointment and I still have not been contacted. I wouldn't waste my time with this company based on my experience, I consider myself lucky not to have signed a contract with Cedar Craft.

We love the pergola and trellis. The workmanship was outstanding. They installed the pergola in one day and put the trellis up the next day. Cedar Craft did an outstanding job. Pergolas are expensive, but Cedar Crafts estimate was about 35% less than one other place we received a quote from. We also looked at vinyl coated pergolas with smaller columns. The vinyl pergola may be about $1,000 to $1,500 less but not nearly as nice. This unit is very substantial. We are very pleased.
