Don was wonderful! When he discovered that our compressor was the problem, the repair would initially have been $1000. Had that been our only option he encouraged us to just purchase a new fridge. Not satisfied with that outcome, he went home and researched our fridge and found this as an option. At no gamble to us, he offered to try this much less expensive repair, and if it didn't work, he wouldn't charge us. Luckily, it did work, and thanks to Don going above and beyond, we weren't out of a refrigerator the week of Christmas and spending an extra pile ofoney to replace it!

Don was the consummate professional and refused payment until he was sure that problem was corrected. The kind of service and professionalism that one hopes for. Have a new issue with my microwave and placed a call to him TODAY. Will certainly use for all repair needs in the future!

Our washer is a 33 year old Maytag, in excellent condition. Since the quality of the washer is much better than current models, it was our desire to repair if possible. Typically we would have called the appliance store where the machine was purchased, but the default of that firm is usually to encourage replacement over repairs when the machine is older that just a few years.
Mr. Burkey responded to our call within an hour, understood our position immediately, and agreed to take on the project.
The repair was difficult and it took some time. He worked efficiently, had the materials he needed with him, and completed the work in one visit. We have used the machine heavily, and we are confident in the repair.

I got Don Berkey Appliance Repair by word of mouth, and found out his wife was a friend of mine - she has since passed away. He is great, and he is so honest. My stove has some kind of brain on it, and he asked me if I used it. When I said no, he said he could bypass it and the burner will still work, instead of buying you a whole new part. That's the kind of great guy he is. The very first time I used him - which was probably about 10 years ago - the microwave, the most expensive bit on it that would need replacing broke. He saw that it had a five year warranty stamped on the back and told me to take it back to where I bought it, which was Sears. He didn't charge me a dime. He could have - he could have fixed it for me and I probably would have paid it, but he did himself out of that job. The last time I went to Sears Repair Department to order a part - which I hate, they really jack up everything - I told everyone in line about him.

I spoke to Don on the phone and he told me how to diagnose the problem and where I could buy parts. I felt the job was beyond my skill level and he set up an appointment.
Don called prior to the appointment time and arrived early. He diagnosed the problem and determined it was the computer board. He looked up prices on eBay and contacted a local local supplier. Again, he gave me the option to purchase the part off of eBay or another supplier. I decided to have him purchase the part locally and make the repair.
Don picked up the part and completed the repairs. He made sure everything was working before he left. He left the old computer board in the event there was a recall.
I was very happy with the work that was completed and the professional manner that Don had. I would definitely call him again.

I have called Don Burkey numerous time over the years to fix my washer, dryer, fridge and dishwasher. What I love about Don is that he shows you exactly what is wrong and how to fix it yourself, if the problem happens again. I will always call Don for all my repairs. ALWAYS!!!
