They came to our house and started removing the grass that we had planted and was growing in a section of the side and rear of our lot without knocking on the door or ringing the doorbell to verify that they were at the correct address. I stopped them in the middle of it and asked them what they were doing. They replied that they were installing a new lawn. After they made some phone calls, they realized that they were at the wrong house. My fiancée called the office manager and she apologized for their mistake but had to ask their boss on how they should fix it/proceed. We were ok with that and also asked for a quote on them finishing the rest of the lot as well (preferably in the spring since it was the middle of October and we weren’t 100% sure on what was going on with our sanitary). The owner shows up later that night stating that we weren’t getting a new lawn, making excuses, yelling, and trying to blame us for their mistake and didn’t want to repair it or reimburse us for grass seed, etc. Excuse #1 was that we didn’t have anything or any grass anyways. Excuse #2 was that we only had weeds and not grass. Excuse #3 was that it wasn’t an established lawn. He said and I quote: “My guys saw a lawn that needed installed and started doing it.” Somehow he was trying to make his excuses justifiable for trespassing and the mistake they made. He also never apologized for it or asked how he could make it better. We had started planting and growing grass before we were made aware of having a sanitary issue. We stopped working on the lawn because we were told that our sanitary may have to be dug up to be repaired. (Now we are being told that it doesn’t need to be dug up.) The owner of Superior Landscapes saw an excavator sitting on the side edge of our property and then made the excuse of “They are going to dig it up anyways”. Then, the owner of the company started bashing us on his personal Facebook page. Very unprofessional. There are before and after pictures of that part of the lawn and video of them driving the bobcat on the lawn.

Pete gave me a design and plan for the work to be done and had several great ideas. His estimate was far better than any others I had received (3) and he was doing more than the others. His Office Manager, Michelle, was excellent to deal with. She kept me informed as to when they would be here (the Ohio weather and my schedule was giving us problems); however, the work was completed very satisfactorily and very timely. The workers were here until 8:15 p.m. that night working very diligently. I will be having them do more work for me in the very near future. Neighbors and friends have commented on what a great job they did!

I was expecting a good result because I was happy with the work completed in the back yard. Pete marked a rough layout with some orange paint going from the front door to the driveway after splitting to go around trees, as well as to the turnaround. I liked the plan because Pete specifically said the sidewalks would go "to the driveway". Time frame for the work was a vague week or so. I was surprised when the concrete crew arrived at 8:00 AM on Monday, ready to start work, without even a prior phone call. If I had known ahead of time, I could have arranged my schedule to come home from work when they were done. My adult son was home while they were working, but they crew just left without giving him an opportunity to check the work before they left. When I saw that one of the 2 matching parallel sidewalks 20' apart weren't the same length, and one was 3' short of the drive, I called Pete. He said I would have to pay more to have that part added, and said no concrete guy would do that small of a job. He offered to build up that part with gravel, but that would look ridiculous not to match the other sidewalk. He wanted the full payment of the job, but it wasn't completed. When I told him I would pay 3/4 and the rest on completion he became belligerent and I had to end the call. Two days later the concrete guy came out and noted that the one sidewalk was back from the drive. I paid him 3/4 of the total job, with notation "balance of $500 upon completion". He asked if he could leave his mixer there to use for the job in a week or so. I wasn't in a hurry, just glad the job would get finished. Imagine my surprise when 4 days later, exactly one week after the walkway was put in, I get a call from a lawyer. He said I'm going to be sued for non-payment, and a mechanic's lien placed on my property. To date I haven't heard from Superior or received any legal notices. Unresolved problems: -One sidewalk doesn't come all the way to the drive, and doesn't match the other walk. -Mounds of dirt and dry concrete left around the walks, not cleaned up at all. -Concrete splatters left to dry on the vinyl siding. -Concrete dumped in the ditch at the road in front of the property. Who dumps concrete in a ditch! Somebody came and cleaned it out after the township building department came after me and I had to fill out a permit form with Superior's information. Currently, I am left with a mess and would gladly pay someone $500 to complete the job. If this is Superior's idea of a completed job, it's not worth the price to be left with this disaster!

Didn't have do it all winter, sometimes didn't show up didn't do the whole driveway. have a two car garage and they would only do one side. The first time they came waited until five o clock in the evening was suppose to come in the morning, called in and they said they were done for the day. Did neighbors way and didn't do theirs. So they cancelled services. Price was reasonable, quality of work wasn't good

Response from Superior Landscapes LLC
"Customer seemed to want a "as requested" service instead of the "as needed" service we provide for residential snow plowing, as she would continually cancel service until we terminated the agreement, We were even kind enough to not charge for the services rendered. Also, our secretary is part time during the winter months and only returns non emergency calls twice a week."

We set out to completely gut, overhaul and excavate our existing front-yard landscaping in front of a newly redesigned version. In doing so we entertained ~four-five different landscaping companies with provided free of cost on-site consultations, plan designs and quotes. In this process it became clear very quickly that Pete would be our choice - he provided the greatest combination of enthusiasm for the project, design and planning skills, including the ability to quickly improvise arrangements in the drawing if we favored something he hadn't considered, value for the money we intended to spend, competence and candid honesty.
We agreed on design and price in mid-May and Pete was ready to begin by the second week in June, which amounted to a little over three weeks of lead time. With a crew of ~6-8 guys, Pete was able to gut and re-landscape our entire yard in only two days, which was exceptional given the scope of the project which included, to name a few: 1) tearing up the existing landscaping which consisted almost entirely of box-wood plants and mulch, 2) installing new landscaping including sod to create a front yard where none previously existed, 3) ensuring that the preexisting sprinkler system was destroyed in the process and was properly integrated into the new landscape, 4) tearing up existing paver stones and re-locating them to another area of the yard to widen a pathway and 5) installing up-lighting and path lights throughout the front yard.
During the two-day process Pete did an outstanding job of managing the project and his crew to ensure that everything was completed expeditiously and correctly the first time around. On the subject of his crew, I can't imagine a better, more hard-working set of guys; they were always active and constantly working. Once everything had been wrapped up the team went above and beyond in thoroughly cleaning any vestige of mess from the project including pressure washing dirt from the driveway and front sidewalks.
In concluding, Pete and Superior Landscapes should be your first and only choice if you're looking for a larger-scale landscape project; I unreservedly and without qualification strongly recommend them and would use them again without hesitation. I can't imagine anybody else besting Pete's enthusiasm, design skills, ability to deliver significant value relative to cost, crew and attention to detail.

Pete from Superior Landscapes is a great guy to work with. We live on a ravine in a very wooded area and our home has a river rock path that goes all the way around the perimeter. We had neglected the landscaping on the perimeter of our home for many years, so it was very overgrown and the river rock path needed top dressing badly.
Pete came out to our house and walked around the perimeter with me and recommended a plan of action to address all of our issues and to get the perimeter of our house looking great. I don't remember how many yards of each we went with, but there was ALOT of topsoil, river rock and mulch in this job. Pete's crew arrived promptly in the AM and worked hard through the entire day. Everything looks great and the mulch and topsoil has really held up during the heavy rains due to the way they installed many of the boulders to cascade down the ravine on the sides of our home.
I am very pleased with the results, price and professionalism of Superior Landscapes. I would definitely recommend them and do business with them again.

Many times they arrived late and defeated the purpose of hiring a plow to get to work and to keep my 70 year old father from shoveling while I am at work. He went out and beat the plow a couple of times. Once during a snow storm he had to go out and help the plow driver get unstuck from where he was in the driveway. All contact I had with this person was over the phone he never sent a contract and never mentioned any extras he would charge for. When I called to cancel for this year he got offensive and mildly threatened me over the phone. I am glad to be rid of this company. If you have contact with them for landscaping or plowing, make sure everything is in writing. They came out once this year when there was only a dusting on the ground. I could have swept the driveway with a broom yet they brought the plow through. Nothing was pushed off as the guides on the plow were higher than the snow so the blade never touched the snow, it did however touch the lawn where they went off the drive.

I have used Pete for three years. I had bad experiences with my previous provider and have found Pete to be honest, fair, and he does a good job. In three years only one problem occurred. Pete listened and discussed the problem without being confrontational and resolved it to my satisfaction. Additionally to my surprise he came around in the spring throwing down some dirt and grass seed to a damaged area at the bottom of my driveway. I pay by the plow.
