Suburban's technician came to the house to analyze the situation, recommended a new mechanism, showed us why we needed it, explained the process, and quoted a price. We accepted, and they had to order the part, so he came back to install it. Both times, he was on time, pleasant, and did s great job.
Description of Work: Had a new clock mechanism installed in a 40-year old grandfather clock.

 + -1 moreIt went very well. We took the clock to them and they examined it and told us what we couldn't and what we could do with it and put in a new battery operated clock work for us. It's a very old clock and not a valuable one. He got it working, but, when it came time for reset the time ,it stopped working. We took it back and he fixed it right away. Their responsiveness was very good. They did a nice job.

Description of Work: Replaced old movement with a new movement which I supplied myself. I asked for my old movement back when I delivered the clock for repair. I had to ask for my old movement when work was completed and was given an old movement from another customer.

They worked for a while but always needed another expensive over haul At Suburban Clock the work took 6 months to complete but the clocks have worked perfectly ever since.They were also able to repair the watch that another jeweler had declined.

 + -1 moreIt was an older clock, about thirty years old, not an antique, and after hearing the estimate to fix it, it made better sense to buy a new one. The selection is incredible and I got a much nicer clock for a reasonable price.

 + -1 moreAfter numerous calls and each time being told they were regulating and testing it, I finally received it on Sept. 18th. It would run about an hour and stop. I took it back on 9/20 and received it today, 10/3. It has been running for 3 hours now and I hope it is finally fixed. I was unhappy they didn't communicate when they kept it so long the first time and even the 2nd time they didn't call me for pick-up.......I had to call them.
Description of Work: I took in a coo-coo clock I had purchased at Suburban Clock about 10 yrs ago for repair as it had stopped working. They told me it needed new work and it would be available and ready in about a week. That was July 20, 2006. Suburban said they would call me when it was ready for pick-up.

 + -1 moreI called them twice, and they said they would call back each time. The first person said they would call in two or three days, and they never called. The second time, they said the next day but never called back. He said it would be $130 to come out, and I didn't respond. I just wanted to see the work, but they never answered.

 + -1 moreSuburban Clock did exactly what they said they would do, in a shorter time than they said it would take, and for the exact amount of money. They were very courteous and professional.
Description of Work: Suburban Clock replaced works for our Howard Miller wall clock. Our clock was not working. We took it in to the shop, and they recommended that we have the works replaced. They also gave us another, cheaper option of having the existing works cleaned and oiled. However, they said this may only make it work again for a short period of time. (A previous clock shop did this, and it only worked for two weeks after the repair.) We went with their recommendation and had the works replaced.

 + -1 moreThey repaired my pendulum, cleaned and oiled the works of the clock and set it to beat. The clock has never kept better time and I was happy that they could find another pendulum as it was a clock made by my Grandfather. I think they are the best!
