Medical Co+Op

Wonderful success! I injured my shoulder in two ways in April, 2009. The intense shoulder pain which was there for 2 weeks, in spite of medication, went away the day of my first treatment at Medical Co-op. Smaller pains returned during the next several weeks, but were always improved by treatments. The treatments changed as my shoulder improved (no "one size fits all"). They did on-going evaluation of progress and listened well to my explanations of how things were going. Eventually when my shoulder progress reached a plateau, they agreed that I should see my orthopaedic surgeon again for possible PT. (Which is available at Medical Co-op, however, I used my Orth.Surg's office for billing reasons.) Eventually I discussed my ongoing (for years) hip weakness and pain when I hike. Tests revealed a cause and they designed a program of treatments to occur before my next hiking trip (Sept. '09). For the first hike, they suggested using an elastic hip/waist wrap to support the recent changes in my body and taught me how to use it. (Now I use it occasionally for heavy lifting or leaning situations.) They also suggested custom orthotics for my shoes. Having had some previous improvement with a ready-made orthotics, I agreed and felt immediate improvement. Because of those three changes, the pain and weakness were totally gone and still are. I see Dr. Ed or Dr. Eric (father and son) once every 4 weeks now for "maintenance". Occasionally I forget to wear the orthotics and end the day feeling tired and achey....very different than other days when I wear them. All procedures and tests were explained clearly and both Dr. Ed and Dr. Eric always have time for all my questions. My shoulder continues to do well and I now hike and climb stairs or rocks pain free and with ease. Appointments are available 7 days a week. I WISH I HAD KNOWN ABOUT THEM YEARS AGO!
