It went very well. I called Berea Heating and Cooling, a local company, on a very hot day because my air conditioner had stopped cooling my house. Russ Tomer came out that day, added Freon to the air conditioner at no cost and didn't charge me for the house call. Needless to say, I liked him a lot. I received a proposal from him and another local company to replace my air conditioner and furnace. Russ’ proposal wasn’t the lowest but I chose him because of the kindness he showed by helping me on that hot day. I know the install wasn't easy, but Russ, along with Barry, did a very professional and excellent job. I would hire them again without hesitation. They have a customer for life.

I called in the evening and they called back the next morning and scheduled for later in the afternoon. The technician was on time. He charged the air conditioning and fixed an error in the wiring of the thermostat.

Russ, came out on a Saturday when all the other heating & cooling shops were closed. He quickly diagnosed the problem and pulled the motor. After a quick trip to his shop to install the new one were basking in blessed warmth. He even took into account that as retired teachers we are not exactly rolling in money. We could not ask for better, more professional service with a heart.

"A" rating on Angies List, and "A+" rating on Better Business Bureau, AND local! A lot more Angies ratings with more reviews, but we wanted to support our local services. And GLAD we did choose Berea Heating. Someone answered the phone after normal hours, and someone called back after hours. Fast, friendly, clean, and considerate. Took his boots off without even asking. This is a HV/AC expert. Not a plumber who does heating on the side, or a heating and plumbing combined ... another reason why we chose Berea Heating. Old furnace, 27 years old, and he knew it and fixed it. Russ, service provider, did a great job. I WILL use them in the future and Highly RECOMMEND Berea Heating to everyone.

These guys are absolute professionals. Two men arrived as scheduled, fully prepared, and got right to work.
I am very impressed with the quality of their workmanship (and I can be very nit-picky). Daisy, our 5 year old
Labrador Retriever, loved Russ Tomer (and the Milk Bones he brought for her). Russ told us he'd be back in
the Spring, when air conditioning season starts, to check on how the A/C unit is performing. The men carted
away our old equipment, all the packaging from the new stuff, and left their work areas spotless.
There should be a higher rating than just "A" for this company ( A++ maybe), for quality above and beyond excellent.

My furnace went out at 2am during one of our super cold spells this winter. I called 3 24/7 services and Russ (Berea Heating) was the first to call me back (eventually the other 2 did also, but it was already office hours before they returned the call). Russ would have been to my house by 730am except for getting caught in the morning storm, but he was still there by 8am. He checked out the furnace, replaced the valve, cleaned the furnace and cleaned up after himself. He was professional and pleasant. I can't tell you how fortunate I felt to find someone who responded so promptly and took care of the problem. I would recommend him to anyone who needs service. I really don't know how his price compares to others but the fact that he responded so promptly and completed the repair in what I consider was an emergency situation will ever endear him to me!

Came home on Friday and house temp was down to 59 degrees. Called a friend who had connections in the heating and cooling business and suggested a gentleman who works for Berea. He came out within an hour or so and started diagnosing the problem. The furnace had shut down due to the blower not turning on. Instead of immediately thinking it was a bad blower he bypassed the computer that controls when it turns on and off and found the blower was working fine. The problem was the computer. Temps were in single digits and he did not have the part in his truck so he rigged it so the blower would just stay on and we would have heat until he could get to the shop the next morning (Saturday) to pick up the part and come back out. He came back Saturday morning and tested it thoroughly and all was working fine by noon. On Monday, when temps dropped to -13 below, blower was working but noticed there was no heat (it was getting cold again in the house). Called him back up and he was out within a couple hours and made an adjustment on the new computer he installed that was causing the furnace to shutdown prematurely. He apologized for the inconvenience and was extremely professional. Obviously there was no charge for coming back out. He was very honest, courteous and explained things very well. Would highly recommend them to anyone. Definitely old school honesty and customer service that you don't find to much these days.

Russ Tomer's company has been servicing our heating and cooling needs since we purchased our home in 1968, and did a custom installation of our current furnace. I called him last week and despite a busy schedule, he made arrangements to come within a week. He came personally, arrived on time, and went right to work. He cleaned the furnace, the drain trap and hose of the dehumidifier, and inspected it all. He also instructed me on changing the filter, which had been changed somewhat by the manufacturer since we bought the unit. He is always professional but very friendly, even bringing a treat for our elderly dog.

At 11:30 PM I realized my furnace was not kicking on and the temperature had dropped below the set temperature. I called the number listed expecting to get an answering machine, but I actually got a live person!! I was both thrilled and shocked all at the same time. My concern was pipes freezing, which I now know takes a few days of below freezing temperatures in the house, but she said that a message would be sent out the person on call and he would get back to me as soon as possible. I called in the morning, since I had not gotten a call and Russ returned my call within 5 minutes. He was very apologetic that he had not contacted me during the night but had been sick and never heard the message until 4:00 AM and was hesitant to call at that hour. Once I told him what was going on, he was here within 30 minutes, identified the problem, which turned out to be a motor, and said he would be back within a couple of hours with a new one to install it. He was back as he said, got it installed and had it running in no time. He is truly one of the few people left that don't try to take advantage of people. He genuinely felt bad at the price of the part and gave me the best price he could and then gave me a discount on his time. I would call him again in a heartbeat. He is honest, a very nice person and knows what he's doing. Every time I have called them for one thing or another, they have been very helpful and he calls back within 5 minutes of my calling in. This is the first time that I have had work that needed done, but would not think of calling anyone else in the future for my furnace or air conditioner. I would highly recommend them to anyone!!!

Our house air conditioning was no longer cooling. We called Berea Heating and Cooling on May 27 and a repairman came the following day. He quickly diagnosed the problem and recharged the system, informing us of possible future issues with our system.
