Pavers By Design

Vance did an excellent job with the design of our paver patio.   The design was hand drawn, but don?t let that dissuade you.    In my opinion, Pavers by Design is the best in the area.  He has been generous with his time and helpful advice.   Pavers by Design does top notch work on their patios, walkways, walls and hardscapes.   The owner can be selective on which projects he pursues.  Highly recommended.

He came in late July to take the information. I called them in mid-September. They called me back and told me he would call me back, and he never did. It has taken me so far two months and I have not heard anything back from this company.

The owner of the company was extremely nice, but when the "design" arrived via email, it was not computer-generated and definitely not worth $49, let alone the $299 quoted in the advertisement. I contacted the owner & sent him a copy of my voucher. He apologized and said he is unable to provide any computer-generated designs and suggested I request from Angie's List. I had provided a copy of the design he sent in my original contact.

Referred to us by Knollwood Nursery, I found Vance to be a true craftsman and professional contractor. We went thru several iterations of the design, each time Vance came to our home prepared with updated drawings and never once complained or exhibited any frustration with the changes we made. He participated in offering design options that proved to be exact fits for the areas that were changed. He provided several referrals, and went to all of them and spoke with the owners directly, everyone of them were satisfied and very happy with the work Vance performed. One of the referrals happened to be a retired senior civilian executive from Wright-Patt AFB that I had worked with, and they had extensive paving/stone work done--all of it flawless. Because he understands how different style pavers/blocks will look, he proved invaluable in offering guidance on the do's and don't's of how to proceed. He has hundreds of photos that offered us many design options that was very helpful. Once we agreed to a price (which I felt was reasonable for the scope of work), Vance gave a projected start date based on his existing workload. Vance and Nate (his assistant) arrived on that exact date, Monday at 7am and stayed on the job the entire week thru Friday at 6pm to fully complete the job. Vance and Nate did some great work for us. Regarding this past winter (worse on record); and all the stone work survived without a single problem. We are very happy with the quality of work performed. I am a retired USAF Colonel and my endorsemnet does not easily, that said, Vance gets my full, unconditional endorsement.

The quote was too high for me. They seemed to be knowledgeable. He was easy to work with and prompt just too high of a price.

The jos was professional completed per the specifications and drawings agreed to. The pavers have held up well over the 2 years since installation. I have applied a paver sealer twice since installation and the original colors in the pavers still come through.

The owner, Vance, was very professional and easy to work with. He was very helpful in designing a layout that we were happy with and helping us to select the a paver stone that we would like. He also made a number of suggestions that improved the end result of the project. He certainly listened to us and took all of our requests into account. We're very happy with the patio that resulted. There were only two small issues, both of which Vance took care of. When digging the base, the crew hit our sump pump line with the bobcat. They repaired the damage the next day and put everything back exactly like it was. Towards the end of the project, the crew was rushing to beat some rain, and didn't fill in the cracks with sand completely. Vance came out within a few weeks and personally took care of that as well. Overall, we were very happy with the work Vance and his crew did, and we'd definitely hire them again. We received three quotes prior to doing the work, and his was right in the middle, but we chose this company because of the number of prior reference they had available.
