Gentle training, explicit in explanation, very knowledgeable

The trainers were knowledgeable and obviously love dogs. They explained all of the training very well and gave the dog owners the best possibility to succeed with their dogs.

We love Canine University! We have learned so much about how to train our dog, we have had tons of fun taking agility classes, and we have made friends. Everyone who works there is very knowledgeable about dogs, training methods, and behavioral issues and they make training your dog a fun and successful experience. I highly recommend it!

We are very pleased with the improvement in our dog's overall behavior as well as her improvement in specific areas. We acquired our 1.5 yr old lab as a puppy, and due to things going on when she was younger did not have the time to provide consistent training. We attended puppy school at Canine University and had a great experience. Earlier this year when we saw the offering for the Dogessori Day School, it seemed like the perfect solution to improving our dog's behavior with someone we knew and trusted, without sending her away for training.

An individualized plan was created for our dog and written report cards were issued after every session. Our dog significantly improved in general obedience very quickly and Amy also worked with her on her suspicion of strangers. When our dog started the class, she did not behave like a typical labrador, thinking everyone is her friend. Instead she would bark and was uneasy around strangers, including our vet. At the end of the class the dog had to go to the vet for an eye issue. He was astounded at how improved she was around him and the other staff and complimented the improvement she made in her confidence and friendliness.

Although it may seem like a lot of money at $85/session, it is definitely worth it. It is difficult to replicate the consistency that Amy and the other trainers in class can provide, and you know that your dog is learning things correctly!

I highly recommend Dogessori Day School for anyone who has a dog who can use some basic training, solve an issue or even a tune up in obedience.

The puppy class had 8 puppies of all sizes. The instructor was very good; she listened to each person and observed closely the interaction between the puppies and the owners to find the best training method for each and to address any unique problems the owner might have. Part of the puppy training is socialization. The puppies are allowed a monitored play time in the middle of class to break the monotony and to reinforce good social interaction between the dogs. We have also used Canine University for pre-agility and agility training. The instructors are very good and the facility is very conveniently located just off of I-271 and Rockside Road. All in all a great experience!

I liked her training style - easy going, positive reinforcement for the dogs. Every dog got a chance to show their stuff to the rest of the class. She tailored the class also to meet specific needs of individuals - breeds as well as human owners. We had some scheduling problems - we were rewarded with a coupon for $25 off the next class. Which we've already started!

THE INSTRUCTOR WAS GREAT, HOWEVER, HER TEMPER COULD FLARE IF OWNERS WERE NOT BEING RESPONSIBLE WITH THEIR DOGS. INSTRUCTION WAS GOOD, FUNDAMENTAL AND HELPED WITH OUR GOLDEN RETRIEVER. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS LACKING. IT'S USUALLY A FEW DAYS BEFORE ANYONE RETURNS PHONE CALLS. AFTER TAKING MY INITIAL OBEDIENCE CLASS, I CALLED (AS INSTRUCTED BY THE WEBSITE) TO INQUIRE ABOUT THERAPY DOG TRAINING CLASSES. I RECEIVED A CALL TWO WEEKS LATER AND THREE DAYS BEFORE CLASS WAS ABOUT TO BEGIN ASKING IF I HAD INTENDED TO PARTICIPATE, OF COURSE I SAID NO. A SIX WEEK COURSE REQUIRES PLANNING ON MY PART AND SCHEDULE COORDINATION.

CLASS TEACHES TO HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DOG. THE REAL TRAINING TAKES PLACE AT HOME BECAUSE YOU NEED TO WORK WITH THEM DURING THE TIME YOU TAKE A CLASS AND CONTINUE AFTERWARDS.

BERNIE''S BREED KNOWLEDGE WAS INVALUABLE IN HELPING ME. I NOW HAVE A VERY SWEET, GOOD CANINE CITIZEN.

AMY TEACHES SEVERAL DOG/PUPPY OBEDIENCE COURSES IN A NEW TRAINING FACILITY. SHE WILL ALSO TEACH PERSONAL SESSIONS FOR ANY BEHAVIORAL WORK - TRULY KNOW ABOUT CARE and TRAINING - EXCELLENT TECHNIQUE - POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT.
